"Alright men and elf, there is something behind this chair. A door. Behind the door behind the chair is something else. A creature? A warrior? Perhaps an ally of ours or a goblin prisoner. Whatever it is we must be prepared. Adarim, Gerald and I will be in front. Nisos will stay behind us, and Gregor will take up the rear."

I then whisper to Nisos, "I don't completely trust Gregor, but to me you are very trustworthy. If he is in the position of killing innocents or betraying us, I want you to incapacitate him."

I draw my mace and stick near the back of the group, I then reply to Saucix in similar hushed tones.
Thank you elf brother, his character seems harmless to me, but I will be prepared in the event that there is a mutiny.

You take position, push the heavy stone chair aside, and open the door. Lying in the room on the floor is a mink in winter fur. A monstrously huge mink, as big as a bear. When you open the door, it jumps to its feet and bares its teeth. The animal looks somewhat underfed.

Though it is both big and white, Saucix sees that this is not the creature from his dream - that animal was much larger and more ponderous.

The room is otherwise bare, with doors to the left and right.

No worries ark, thanks for putting this on in the first place.

So it's gonna eat us? TIEM TO TANK

We can probably handle this one without magic. Unless saucix wants to try talking to it or whatever, I'm just gonna run up and hit it. Go ahead and shoot arrows/backstab this thing, but let me draw it's attention.

"Go get the Goblin corpses Gerald, this is just a starved animal."

I want us all to retreat, and block up the door until we can get those Goblin corpses. Perhaps Nisos can try to tame it with his high charisma. It would be good if we had another party member as well.

Yeah I'd prefer to solve this without fighting, but will do my duty should that fail. MGB, let's wait on the blinding for a sec.

"Go get the bodies, I shall keep this beast at bay." As we retreat to the other room, I get the monster's attention and distract it from the rest of the party. I do my best to parry the beast's blows, fighting defensively. "And remember to pull me through before you seal off the door, alright?" Once the belly is full, we just may be able to tame this... thing.

"Very well, I will defer to your judgement."
Keep arrow at the ready, just in case.

Hmmm, if it is feasible, I could attempt to charm it, and we would have a riding mink for a day. This should at least be our first option.

I'll help with the corpses and otherwise assist Gerald.

Failing an attempt to disarm it with food or charm it, I'll assist in the attack by circling to a flanking position after Gerald has drawn its ire.

Charm Person only works on intelligent creatures.

Gerald blocks the doorway as the giant mink charges! Gerald fights defensively (no attacks but +3 AC). Still, the mink gets a paw past his defenses and makes a savage swipe. 6 damage

Nisos and Gregor run to get the goblin corpses, while Saucix and Adarim pull Gerald through the door and slam it shut. The three of them put their weight to the door, to keep it closed until Nisos and Gregor return. The mink pushes frantically from the other side.

Gerald rolled Str 20+1 vs. Fort

Saucix rolled Str 9+1 vs. Fort

Adarim rolled Str 7+0 vs. Fort

The mink leaps into the door from the other side. The impact throws Saucix and Adarim onto their backs, but Gerald stands fast and keeps the door sealed. Nisos and Gregor return with the goblin corpses, placing them before the door, and Gerald carefully lets it swing open. The party retreats as the mink jumps through the doorway, spots the corpses, and hungrily starts tearing into them.
