As, just wondering, as the Teutons are in AOEII, and I had otherwise not heard of them.noDice! wrote:No, but I am a fan of Empire Total War.Kalvinator wrote: ....Also, have you ever played the game Age of Empires II? As I'm wondering where you got your inspiration.

Surely you're familiar with the Teutonic Knights and the State of the Teutonic Order? The Teutonic Order is still around today actually.
The Teutons were an ancient Germanic tribe from modern day Denmark (Jutland), they migrated to the Prussian region (modern day Poland) and clashed with the Roman Republic on a few occasions (actually they even invaded northern Italy). The term Teuton was later used an an umbrella term for all Germans. Theutonicorum is Latin for "Germans".
Looks like a map of the Teutonic State at its greatest extent, not sure when, but the state existed from 1230–1525

Cool, a faction based on the Teutonic Order.

Thanks, yeah I was going to make some British 95th Regiment of Foot (The Rifle Brigade), I just haven't got around to it yet. I'm familiar with the Sharpes novels, but I haven't read them or really watched TV series either. But check out/Like my facebook page it's pretty much all Napoleonic or Crimean Wars minis as of now. Got a few British Raj units too. BTW your flicker portfolio is pretty awesome.james+burgundy wrote:Looks pretty cool always liked Napoleonic style army's , reminds me of the Sharpe series.
