Re: The official LOOT topic
Finally made my first BrickLink purchase since moving here. Now I need some more guns for those new Space Canadians.

I know I've been out of the loop, but doesn't Mike work FOR The Lego Company?Zupponn wrote:Yes. Mike should sue them for all their money! Then he could quit his job and work on Brikwars full time!
Ergo anything he does to promote the sale of Lego, aftermarket or otherwise, line his pockets?

Alright, on to loot...
Picked up #75000 a while back:
The Hovercar is pretty good, with working ramp doors, blaster storage, a nice missile gimmick, and enough seating space for both Troopers.
The Droideka's are alright, much closer to scale than their previous incarnations, but a bit lacking in the ARTICULATION department...
Also got that Halo 4 Cryopod MegaBlocks set just for the Holo Cortana, because I needed one for my plans for a Web Series...
Yesterday I went with my mother to Toys'r'Us to pick out some Birthday Presents for my youngest Nephew and a few things for his siblings.
His elder brother is the one I taught Brikwars to, and I picked out the #75022 Mandalorian Speeder for him since he likes cool figs.
Since I also had a Birthday last month, the FBI asked me if there was anything that I wanted...
While I've been hoping to lure her into making a BrickLink purchase so I can start adding some MOCs to Briktoid Automata, I unfortunatly had my eyes glued on this:
The #70707 CLS-89 Eradicator Mech, because it's a heavily armed Mecha that comes with probably THE best Galaxy Squad Robot and a handful of flickfire missiles!
Plus it comes with two brickbuilt Bugs as enemies, instead of Mansquitoes...
I'm thinking I might reskin the Tairin Federation into mash up of ADU suits and helmets with Galaxy heads while the Eradicator takes the place of the Athena mech MOC.
The Jet Cockpit would also probably used for the eventual Troop Transport, while the Mecha Hardsuit hangs from underneath the cargo bay.
The Bugs are going to be used as the basis for a new Pseudo-Arachnid Empire, since they would make great bodies for Workers and the pod cocoons are perfect for their Transformative ability.
Speaking of the Lego Company...
DAMN YOU MIKE!
You had the design team snoop around here for ideas, didn't you?!
I don't think it's a coincidence that the joint Natalya used on her Spider Tank ended up in the waist of the Eradicator!
And the #70701 Swarm Interceptor is that separating freighter spacecraft crossed with a B-wing!
If you are going to steal ideas from us, can we at least have Bulk Army Builder Sets with 4-8 generic troops?
I kind of want to get a force of Clones going, but nowadays their all !
Also... WHAT THE HELL IS UP WITH THE NEW BATTLE DROID COLOR?!?!
They look like they're made of Caramel...

A clone is still a clone. And if there's anything we can learn from the Lego community it's that clones are the worst (even if I have like a hundred of them).Whiteagle wrote:Implying Newtypes ever made Gundam any good?Insert_blank wrote:If there aren't newtypes, or Char then it's not gundam. Also Char has the Hyaku Shiki which is the best psuedo-gundam ever. Speaking of which I bought this a few months ago and then built it a few weeks ago:

Well fuck Char, the bipolar bastard can't decide which side of the War he's on, and he has the "Genius" plan of forcing humanity into space by making the Earth uninhabitable...Insert_blank wrote:A clone is still a clone. Re: The official LOOT topic
Not bipolar, forced into a position of responsibility he didn't ask for or seek out. I think by Counter Attack he wanted Amuro to take him down, regardless of the Federation's corruption (if you watched ZZ the ending basically sets Counterattack up perfectly and sort of explains Char's motivations better but most people skip that series).
Finally you can't convince me any mobile suit is cooler than Hyaku Shiki and Char as Quattro was so badass in Zeta.

Re: The official LOOT topic
I've gotten pretty lazy latley with my minifigs, afterall my white army is almost entirley SW Troopers.
Was looking at that Escape Black Star Superman set because I kind of want one of those Kryptonians, I'd use him as a hero or something for my black army.
Other than that I've got absolutley no breathing room for any other lego sets. I already made an order on pick a brick for the parts to make about 30 Rifle, a dozen rocket launchers, 25 Full Minifigs to add to my black army, and like 80 sets of headgear for the black, blue and white armies. as well as some random stuff like female minifig hair which I don't have much of, and some other random decoration peices
It's shipping from friggin Poland, and given where Poland is I will probably be playing Grand Theft Auto 5 and will have forgotten about it by the time it arrives.
I once Ordered something from the UK and that took like nearly two months flat to arrive. and that's in Western Europe.
If I had of known PAB comes from Poland, I wouldn't have ordered.

Re: The official LOOT topic
I remember years ago when I was in the grocery store the only sets they usually carried were little $4-5 things consisting of like one minifigure or a small <30 peices car.lorbaat wrote:My grocery store had Gandalf Arrives for 50% off, so I got that.
I remember buying a lot of these.. I really miss the mid 90s-2004 ish Lego, Not this abundance of Licensed crap today. Main reason why I have so many SW figs is because there isn't a proper SciFi theme out there, And Galaxy Squad -just- started like last year. Or some time after I took a break from Lego.
Re: The official LOOT topic
Well they still have those in Polybags, they just need to keep them in stock since the good ones sell so fast.Kastrenzo wrote:I remember years ago when I was in the grocery store the only sets they usually carried were little $4-5 things consisting of like one minifigure or a small <30 peices car.

Re: The official LOOT topic
The giant megagrocery near me has a semi-decent toy aisle, but whoever buys for/prices it is an idiot. The Gandalf set wasn't the only one at 50%, but I had the others and they weren't calling my name. They were all marked "discontinued" which I'm pretty sure some of them aren't. And even if they are... really? 50% off?Kastrenzo wrote:I remember years ago when I was in the grocery store the only sets they usually carried were little $4-5 things consisting of like one minifigure or a small <30 peices car.lorbaat wrote:My grocery store had Gandalf Arrives for 50% off, so I got that.

Anyway, it was a nice treat for me.
