The Siege of Reichingrad (Round 8)

Postby Bragallot » Mon Aug 19, 2013 1:16 pm

Round 8

Inquistadores - Zupponn

Image

The Jackal pushes himself off the remains off the redoubt with his remaining leg, hoping the force will flip him over the wall and onto some enemies...

Image

The roll is too low and he lands on the unfortunate Angelica's head, squishing her. Scratch wanted her to be mushy like a banana by the end of this round, but she's more like a pancake now. This ends Zupponn's admirable attempts to wreak havoc with nothing more than a broken mech and an incompetent champion :)

Commandos - Apollyon

The commander tries to kill the healbot, but misses wildly.

Image

The flamer takes his job very seriously.

Image

So does the commander, passing through the flames...

Image

He should've been able to withstand them, but alas, he wasn't.

Third Army - theblackdog

Image

Der Kaiser focuses the farce on the bunker...

Image

... and sends it crashing down. Bringing 100 tons of concrete and steel down on him was the only way to get rid of the flamer. The healbot, on top of being on fire, was also crushed.

Image

Der Kaiser proceeds to beamsabre Manly Santa to the face, but it takes more than a beamsabre to the face to kill Manly Santa.

Image

The remaining Wolves then try to help out Der Kaiser. The plasma zerreiser is slightly off target and sends them both flying.

Image

Der Kaiser is shaken but otherwise ok.

Image

Manly Santa, who was also hit by a regular Zerreiser, is not...

Image

The Schattenlaufer then riddles Psycho Dad with bullets.

Image

... then stomps on the last elf. This thing is an infantry-killer, yo.

Image

The last Himmelsjäger delivers a firm stab to the head for good measure.

Fort Garrison - Scratch

Image

The Engel is hijacked again... Now that it's been battlefield-tested, I should probably do something about that happening all the time.

Image

Crocodile Dundee will be sure to agree with me, once he returns.

Image

Another soldier is resurrected.

Image

Johnny Blitzkrieg fires an aimed shot through the Jackal, killing the pilot.

Image

The remaining Miliz and assault troopers fall back and prepare response fire against the immortals.

Image

This guy makes the sprint of his life.

Image

Only to find out he's not needed.

Space Pirates - piltogg

Image

Valeera screams forward through the enemy fire. Some bullets seem to ricochet off her cape.

Image

She reaches the first Terrorkhan, but finds her efforts parried. Realizing her mundane abilities aren't going to be enough...

Image

She unleashes a bladestorm! A critical success cuts apart the three remaining Terrorkhan!

Image

As blood and bodies drop down all around her the pirate mistress receives a call. "Valeera, you've distracted them for long enough. I understand that Sharane is also dead. Now, it's time to get out of there. We're in position."

"It's about time."

Image

"Looks like everything's going according to plan, mistress."

"Of course. Commence bombardment of the area!"

Yes, all the immortal forces were dead at the end of the round, so... An epilogue and follow-up battle will follow, but not immediately.

Oh come on, that was mean! Coming so close to the control room and then getting killed by friendly fire?

This was a great battle. I had a lot of fun playing. Flamers are evil (or super effective?).

This was an epic battle, after the odds against us, Johnny better get a bonus, seriously, only one Inquistadore got past the gate, and that one was thrown over. Also, kudos to TBD for holding that flank for 3 turns with, like, 10 dudes. A suggestion for the Engel would be to have it take an extended action to put on, so the person hi-jacking it couldn't cut up and Dundees on the same turn.

Well, we almost did it. Most of a victory is good enough.

Yeah, this was easily one of the most epic battles I've ever been part of -- especially towards the end when I was holding off a massive commando assault with like four minifigs and a mech. Kudos to Scratch for holding the left flank against two hordes of enemies, and to Brag for some truly brilliant terrain design.

I had a rough game. I am happy that I lasted until the last round though.

Valeera... must be some kind of genetically engineered super-soldier space pirate.

She gets some pretty good rolls, too.

Glad yall enjoyed it. Apollyon losing a 7-8 armour hero to 1d6 fire damage so close to your objective is unlikely, but in Brikwars you know it's going to happen :)
