You could try stacking something heavy against it, like the stone furniture that's lying around.

Oh, I thought Saucix meant the entrance door. The pit would be much harder to cover up; it's about 15' feet across, and you don't have anything that large.
Gerald gets a rope, ties it to the stone table again, and descends into the darkness. At the bottom of the pit is the crack in the wall that leads to caves unknown.

"A wall, possibly brick..."

You all climb down to the bottom of the pit. (I'll assume you light a torch since it's pitch black and all.) Beyond the crack in the wall is a natural cave tunnel that stretches northwards. On the floor is still the remains of the tiny creature Saucix squashed last time you were here, all dried up.

Gerald takes the lead as you squeeze through the crack and begin walking through the tunnel. It soon widens into a bigger cavern, continuing northwards. You hear a clattering sound from up ahead, and two of these things crawl into the light of your torches.
(Two inches long)

Re: In the Cold North - Forum RPG
Saucix squashes the tiny monstrosities, and you move on. This tunnel seems to be quite long. After a while of walking, you hear the clattering noises again. Lots of them. Turning a corner, you come upon a larger cavern, too big for your torches to illuminate completely. It is full of stalactites and stalagmites. Crawling over these, the floor, and the walls, are hundreds of the small creatures. You also notice a faint but foul smell, like rotten eggs and spoiled milk.
Re: In the Cold North - Forum RPG
I guess you continue. The stench grows stronger as you go deeper. Soon you see the cavern grow smaller and become something of a tunnel again. But this thing is sitting in the middle of the tunnel.
It is about four feet tall. It's occupied with picking up small creatures as they pass by and stuffing them into its mouth, at a leisurely pace. It doesn't seem to have noticed you.

Re: In the Cold North - Forum RPG
I doubt it'll want to bother us, because we're a lot bigger and covered in armour. Let's move forward. Gerald first of course.
