Re: Newbish n00b questions, MkII
61. Overly complicated Ker-Pow! tables used to govern what happened when vehicles took damage. It was such a mess that the running joke became to add ker- as a prefix to every table possible.
70. Yes
71. Cone
72. Do whichever's funniest and least convenient.

73. So if I wanted to have a "radius scan" for a radar/spy sat/magic scrying function, I'd just add d10 radii to it, right?

Re: Newbish n00b questions, MkII
If you add a d10 to it somehow, it gets +2" radius.

74. Can I slap a Mekanism on a Payload? Like if I wanted to load my charger with a "grapeshot" round (for some antipersonnel fun and mayhem) that instead of a regular explosion would function as a 1" BlastGun upon closing with the target, thus shredding squishy minifigs into paste, but leaving their sweet-ass materiel largely unharmed and ripe for capture by my own troops? Considering the range limits on BlastGuns, it might be useful to bring the BlastGun right over the enemies' heads across long distances.
75. How would shaped-charge explosives work? I could always crunch a d10 Explosion into a d8 Arc, but is there a cheaper, less convoluted way? Can I just say "oh, this claymore here explodes in an Arc, rather than a Radius". It also would be handy not to have my boarding party blown up by their own breaching charge.
76. I recall reading in the 2001 edition options for something like Med-bays and Mek-bays for fixing troops and vehicles, respectively. How feasible would it be to have special buildings that give bonuses to certain abilities, and thus encourage players to defend/capture them? I mean guess I could give the structure some SN dice and have it ping out a generic Blessing or Skill bonus every round, but that seems a bit like overkill. Again, is there a more streamlined way to do this?

I need to get a smiley for manly tears of pride. (edit: )
Yes. You can make any physical object a Payload, up to the size limit.Kirillyos wrote:74. Can I slap a Mekanism on a Payload?
No idea. I've never played with shaped charges in real life, so I didn't put any in the rulebook. I guess I should go do some "research" heh heh hehKirillyos wrote:75. How would shaped-charge explosives work?
Now I'm leaning more towards assistants who add +1 die size to rolls, so the advantage of a med-bay is that it has +1 Nurses in it rather than any bonus from the building itself. But if you come up with any cool house rules I'd love to hear them.Kirillyos wrote:76. So something like the way Gunnery Support works, with similar units providing synergy bonuses?stubby wrote:Now I'm leaning more towards assistants who add +1 die size to rolls, so the advantage of a med-bay is that it has +1 Nurses in it rather than any bonus from the building itself. Exactly like that, except with units whose only role is to provide synergy.Kirillyos wrote:So something like the way Gunnery Support works, with similar units providing synergy bonuses?

Re: Newbish n00b questions, MkII
We should make it scalable so it's worth fielding more than one, but also have a reasonable limit on it (like there is with Gunnery Support).stubby wrote:Exactly like that, except with units whose only role is to provide synergy.Kirillyos wrote:So something like the way Gunnery Support works, with similar units providing synergy bonuses?

P.S. I don't think "respecting other people's beliefs" extends to cults which the founder of admitted was a ploy to get rich.
