What bricks have you got?

Round 1x1 bricks are common and make good barrels. For handles you'll need some piece that minifigs can hold. There are plenty of tools that you can turn into guns with some creativity.

Might be Necroing a little, seeing as this is about 30 days old, but here's some of the designs I have used, hope they help

http://brikwars.wikispaces.com/file/vie ... 20Arms.lxf

The color strips were just to classify what >I< Used them as. They're not fancy, they're practical, mostly made from plentiful common parts.

Black Pistols
Brown PDWs, Low Quality Small guns
White Short Energy/Laser Weapons, Laser Carbines,
Tan Short Rifles, Carbines, SMGs

Red Rifles, Assault Rifles, Service Rifles, Semi Autos, etc.
Blue Large Caliber Rifles, Heavy Rifles, Sniper Rifles, etc
Yellow Energy/Laser Weapons,
Green Various Anti vehicle weapons, Rocket launchers, RPGs,

Orange Light mini portable machine guns Note the last weapon is a "minesweeper" peice, I cut the back off mine, I don't really reccomend Taking scissors to lego though.
Purple Heavy Machine Guns

Lots of pieces with bars and Technic pins are a good start. Some, like the "hose handles" can serve as "foundations" for you to custom-build onto. Technic long pins with the friction greebles make good barrel shrouds. Slip a couple of cylinders onto a speargun and you've got yourself a combat shotgun. Heck, stick a torch onto a loudhailer to make a simple assault rifle.

Retroactive fine print - everybody, feel free to use any of my designs, all I ask is that you credit me for them.

LEGO are like boobs - designed for kids, but adults have plenty of fun playing with them too. ;)

Thanks! :D

Though now that I've dug it out of my LeoCAD archives, I realize I might fiddle with updating the design, since I've got new pieces in the program now.

Anyway, stay tuned, chances are you may see it in a battle I host on the forums.
