Hey guys, I think that was a bit too easy- those beasts? They are going to the back of the cave, right where that gate is that is supposed to be so dangerous. I think we better get into some kind of a formation, pick up whatever loot we need and get moving after them fast, we've got to head them off before they undo that rock-slide we saw earlier at the back. Considering we are going to be dealing with a swarm of bat and mite-type creatures as well, we need to stay close together, and no one can wander far off from the group. Those guys deal auto swarm-damage, so anyone who tries to go solo is likely going to be bat-feed. There is a very useful bottleneck right in the same direction the beasts went. I think the best idea would be to move there (as its about as far as most of use can get anyway) and set up our two best shooters at the wall facing through the bottleneck, and then place melee attackers on the blindside of the bottleneck. Have someone do something to draw the attention of the spiders and bats (ideas as to what to do to get there attention would be helpful), then let lose with a flurry of AoE charged bullets, and then have the melee guys do the same with CC attacks for any of the swarm who gets through.

What do you guys think?

Will post orders first thing tomorrow morning, figured I'd give this at a least an evening.

I do like the idea of AoE bullets. Let's go with that.

This is simply a suggestion not a demand but I do believe using the suitor as the bait will be in our best interest seeing how the bats and such might attack the one giving a distraction.

The suitor is my property, you guys can get your own husbands if you want.

Bait doesn't sound like a bad idea though, just don't pick him up and use him as a shield again.

Okay orders for Flash:

"Haha! Well that turned out just like I'd planned! Sometimes I surprise even myself with just how damnably talented I really am!" Flash then moves forward with the rest of the group and takes position in the blindside of the bottleneck at the back of the cave, off-sides to where the shooters will be setting up (the area that can't be seen by anyone standing in that particular back entrance), alongside whichever other melee attacker takes position there. He supercharges his beamsaber for AoE damage, and prepares to counter any hostiles who come through the bottleneck entrance. "Alright, crew take position, double time now! Time to execute phase two of my genius plan! Remember crew, you fight for the everlasting glory of your magnificent captain!"

After the bait/distraction is released, and the spiders/bats come pouring through, and the attack begins: "No mere cave mite is a match for the blazing style of Captain Flash Maxwell! Enguarde!"

Also, Flash should be on guard for the possibility the beasts rush back this turn- and just in case we get any stray AoE bullets- be prepared to bail out of the way.

So.. I didn't read any of this until just now.

I must say that I'm quite impressed by it all. You are doing quite an excellent job with this! (as usual).

Thanks!

I finally got to do the next round of the space battle. I'll try to get the next turn up faster.

SCS Avoidance (Lord Mercat)
Image
Gimbles and Biff return to the cockpit after finishing off Captain Maxwell's private donut stash.
"Man, that was perfect, I feel up to speed and ready for anything now!"
"Yeah, The Captain's got unbeatable taste in quality pastry, I'll tell you that!"

Image
"Oh, hey whats with all this damage to the ship?"
"Time for some retaliation! Lets blast these pirates! Okay, rerouting targeting computers to enemy cockpit two, routing power to Ion cannon, locking target... FIRE"

Image
"Got em in our sights, Gimbles- HAHA, CAN YOU TASTE THE ION YOU FILTHY PIRATES"

Image
As a result of a critical failure, the shot hits the interceptor instead of the Chimera and deals one point of damage.

Image
"Okay, so that didn't work, we'll just turn em into swiss cheese! Fire secondary guns!"
The Avoidance takes another hit point from the Chimera by attacking with half the pulse weaponry (Now at 5/10)

Image
The Avoidance then back up to create distance with the Chimera until it is blocked by some kind of space discontinuity(?)

Noxarian Security (Battlegrinder)
Image
The Interceptor manoeuvre to attack the Chimera.

Image
And kills the second pilot!

Image
Chimera is crippled!

Image
Sentinel-144 launches a volley of torpedoes at the Pirates.

Image
With very disappointing results. The whole attack deals a single point of damage.

Space Pirates (Scribonius)
Image
Image
Two Pirates exit the Chimera by the hatch on the top.

Image
Image
They move to the cockpits to replace the fallen pilots.

Image
Image
A light frigate is deployed from the Chimera!

Image
The Pirate fleet position itself to concentrate fire on the Avoidance..

Image
The Escort misses and one torpedo is destroyed by Automated Response Fire from the Avoidance.

Image
The attack adds two more points of damage to the hull of the Avoidance.

Image
The Chimera continues at full speed towards the Avoidance..

Image
And rams it with the port side wing!

Image
The wing of the Chimera is completely destroyed and the SCS Avoidance receives two points of structural damage.
The hull of the Avoidance as reach 50%

Pierro Mimsey the Sad Clown (???)
Image
Back on the Avoidance, the Sad Clown looks at the crew with a very sad face...

Image
But nothing happens so he proceeds to the top of the ship.

Image
Image
Using the stolen antenna as a baseball bat, he knocks the ion cannon from the Avoidance.

Image
He then pulls two large dishes out of nowhere..

Image
And mount them on the Avoidance, turning the ship into a big loudspeaker!

Image
He grabs his microphone...

Image
And plugs it in the engine.
Pierro is now diverting one inch of power from the Avoidance to power his sound system.

ESF Reinforcements (NPC)
Image
The Drop Pods peacefully advance 25 more inches.

Image
As a reminder, Noxarian Security objective is to prevent them to get to the planet...

Image
And the first Drop Pod will reach the planet at the end of the next turn!

Space Mafia (NPC)
Image
“Procuration” reaches the planet and gets out of sight.

I gave everyone roughly two turns of movement (except for the Space Detective who got two supernatural d8 instead) to save some time as the room is quite large.

Image
Vera's suitor picks up the crossbow while the Post-Apoc Survivor recovers:
"Dammit Flash you were meant to cover me."

Image
Vera says something in russian.. She looks very angry but Carlos intervene before it gets physical.
Suitor: “Oh darling! You're fantastic!”

Image
The Suitor jumps on Vera:
“My Valentine!”
They are “disrupted” for the rest of the turn.

Image
Carlos takes the Survivor aside for a little chat:
"Listen carefully. I have no concerns with who wants to kill who. I do, however, have a vested interest in knowing my teammates aren't going to try to feed me to a monster. You? I'm not too sure about anymore. I feel threatened. Do you know how I deal with threats? Well, try that again and see. I dare you."
The Post-Apoc Survivor replies:
"He's a suitor he's useless we could've made friends with these beasts instead of turning them into bloodstains!"

Image
Carlos pins him against the rock wall.
"Okay, survivor. You want to keep living? Well let me make something abundantly clear. Arguing with me? SECOND STRIKE. Now think VERY carefully. Do you want to find out which one of us is better at killing which? Is it really worthwhile to try me? Are you a professional gambler? Because I can tell you right now, I am not afraid to SHOVE THIS OTHER FUCKING GRENADE DOWN YOUR THROAT.
Are. We. Clear. On. This. Point?"

Image
Garth joins: “Garth think Survivor right! Suitor would make delicious bait.”
Survivor: "Thank you my friend, I wish the rest of our party thought so."

Image
Carlos simply adds: “Not right now..” and leaves them.

Image
He equips the rifle.
He then uses his psychic power to look into the future...

Image
He finds himself in a dark hallway with a metallic door at the end...
But this is not the future... this is the present... but somewhere else...
There is a lot of background noise... mostly from the apparent proximity of machinery and electronik devices...
Gravity feels artificial...

Image
The doors slide open when Carlos reaches the end of the hallway...
The first thing he sees through the opening is a captain chair...
This is the bridge of a ship...

Image
There is a crew operating the ship but the captain chair is empty...
No one pays attention to Carlos...
He would like to talk to them...
But he can't...

Image
The vision gets blurry...
Carlos is losing grip...
His mind is being pulled somewhere else...

Image
The city...

Image
Spacecraft Procuration just landed in the city...

Image
A lawyer, a collector (aka bonesetter) and a gangster get out of the little spacecraft.
“The Godfather received your message and requested proof of your claim. Are you sure that was him?”

Image
“A proof? I'm sure you will recognize this dagger.”
“Carlos' dagger... So this is where he's been hiding..”

Image
“Hiding? He's not hiding! He's on a mission with that Flashy Captain Max-something. Personally I had never heard of him before today.”
“You mean Flash Maxwell, Captain of the SCS Avoidance? Where is he now?”

Image
“Yes that's it! Captain Maxwell! You know that guy?”
“The Avoidance is awaiting clearance to get down here.. We'll have to do something about that ship or it could become a problem.”

Carlos reaches level 8!

Image
Garth moves on. He gets the axe back and puts it in his inventory.

Image
He finally finds a suitable replacement hand..
(About amputations: I treated each minifig part as a distinct limb: Hands, arms, legs and waist which is why Jaras and Vera lost complete arms while Garth only lost one hand.)

Image
He recovers and equips the shield.

Image
Jaras exchanges his armor set for the one lying in the corner of the room.
(Level point put into HP)

Image
"Haha! Well that turned out just like I'd planned! Sometimes I surprise even myself with just how damnably talented I really am!"

Image
Flash moves forward with the group and takes position in the blindside of the bottleneck:
"Alright, crew take position, double time now! Time to execute phase two of my genius plan! Remember crew, you fight for the everlasting glory of your magnificent captain!..."

Image
“So... about that bait?”

Image
The Space Detective uses both supernatural d8 to enchant a bullet.
“Watch this!”

Image
He fire through the archway...

Image
The magic bullet flies around the corner...

Image
It then shatters and create a cone of projectiles that blast the whole group of bats.

Image
Four bats die (+8xp!)

Image
The vermin has become very agitated and aggressive but they can't find the shooter..

Image
“Oh!”

Garth should get a line of sight of the man bat, while avoiding being seen by the regular bats. He should then throw his axe at manbat's head. "You got a smasheded head silly bat!" Garth should then pull out his sword and hold it out so any bat that flys into the entrance gets cut.
Dibs on that chest behind manbat.

Put point into hitpoints. High time I did so.
Use psychic powers to shoot pyrokinetic bullets at the giant bat.
