Roman Army
In a previously little explored corner of the medivo brikverse, a new faction is gaining power. Subjugating the city-states and tribes nearby, their borders are growing daily. Buttressed by the five principle virtues of Frugalitas, Gravitas, Pietas, Fides, and Virtus, their citizens fight with a courage which knows no equal. Soon, the whole world will lie at the feet of ROME!
Leadership/Heroship.
On the left are the generals Aemilus Paulus and Coriolanus, in the center is Cincinnatus, dictator in times of emergency, holding the eagle (yes, I know it's a bat, but minifigs struggle when it comes to names) and on the left are the censor Cicero and the senator Marcus Cato the Elder.
I Legion The pilum, shields, and helmets are from Brickforge and the exquisite decals are from Saber-Scorpion.
Close-up of a Legionnaire.
Close-up of the back.
Cavalry
These shields are from Brickwarriors.
This is a Batista I threw together for artillery support. I'm not entirely happy with it and will probably be changing it.
Skirmishers. They are generic enough to fit almost any ancient army.
I plan to add another legion very soon, probably in the next couple months, so once I get them it will be a more full sized faction but I figured I'd post what I have now.
I am also building a Greek faction. Once Brickwarriors molds their hoplon and sarissa in bronze I'll make a full phalanx, so until then it's not much.
Elite hoplites.
Side view of the helmets. The one on the left is Brickforge and the one on the right is Brickwarriors.
The hero from the Trojan War, Ajax.
When I saw this ridiculously ostentatious helmet (Brickwarriors) I knew I needed one.
And to fill this post's quota of violence, the skewering of a skirmisher, courtesy of the Senate and People of Rome.

These guys look great; I wish your camera was a little better.

Re: Roman Army
Thanks, the picture quality is probably partly the fault of the cameraman.
I was using my brother's camera which I am less used to using. Maybe when I get time I'll add some better pictures.

Re: Roman Army
I really like your Roman army. You make good use of decals and custom pieces. Some gladiators would make a cool addition to the army, as a forlorn hope type of unit.

Re: Roman Army
Very cool stuff. Maybe your cavalry shields could do with some decalling, other than that everything looks great.

Legionnaires are my favorite, very awesome looking everything though. Camera work could be better though.

Re: Roman Army
That's what I think every time I see another medieval army on here. Sadly Zahru and I would have to develop FTL travel first before we could even get within arm's reach of another Brikwarrior.

Are you using an exaggeration for real life distance?

No, I actually live in space. Where do you think I found all this Lego?Quantumsurfer wrote:Are you using an exaggeration for real life distance?
Re: Roman Army
Brilliant, you've done a great job keeping a consistent theme through all of your troops yet have some good variety. Something that's actually more difficult than it sounds I'm finding.
