He actually directly stated this in the movie.

Just got 7 black ninjas and 7 grey ninjas at a cost of $1.80 each from ebay (when shipping is included). slightly cheaper than they could be purchased for on bricklink, plus the katanas are basically freebies.

I only ever had red ninjas and one white one previous to this.. so that's kind of fun.

Every once in a while, it pays to watch out for stuff on ebay.

Went to the Lego store yesterday. Got the entire Mixels release and a large PAB cup filled with 1x1 grey round tiles and some other nice parts.

They have streets on Medivo? It's a shame new baseplates are so expensive. Even used ones aren't cheap.

Yeah, I was eyeing with old eighties roadplates; there was a set of 9 on a local auction site, but they looked grimy as shit and and I wouldn't save that much on it so I reckoned it's better to buy fresh new ones instead. I'll probably get some more next month, I wanna do a 3x3 layout.

Carpet's fine and all, but I really wanna have some modern stuff as well - I'm feeling a bit burned out on fantasy stuff for the moment. Also having a cityscape environment opens up a lot of possibilities, both in terms of display and brikwars.
