Metal Art: making my own backpatch

Post by Apollyon » Tue Sep 10, 2013 6:39 am

Hi everyone!

So i am working on a new battle jacket and since my favourite band Atlantean Kodex does currently not offer any backpatches i am going to get a custom one made for it.
The manufacturer of the patch needs a proper picture of the motif i want but i lack the artistic (and photoshop) skills to make one. I do have an idea however
how it could look like:

Image

The problem is that this is too small and the details on the book are too fuzzy for the picture to work as a template for the stitching machine.
And this is where you come in:

I need a decently sized picture with the Atlantean Kodex logo at the top and an awesome/metal looking codex on the bottom. The backpatch dimensions
are roughly going to be height 24cm, top width 28cm, bottom width 22cm (upside down trapezoid). Letters cannot be smaller than 3mm and while i'd prefer
to keep it monochrome up to 12 colors are possible (no color gradients though).
Anyone willing and skilled to do this for me?

This is what i can offer as reward:

6. my eternal and righteous gratitude
7. you artwork in all sorts of metal places i go
8. become a character in my part of the Brikverse?
9. i can possibly gift you some Lego?
10. and if you wanna raise hell with me in Berlin, i can show you what it's like!

Here is a better picture of the band logo:

And finally to get you in the mood:

So the forum's anwer is: :diy:

I ditched the idea with the codex/book and decided to fashion something after the song called "Twelve Stars and an Azure Gown (An Anthem for Europa)" and this is my first draft:

Europa riding the white bull. And the twelve stars.

Easy man, I didn't exactly take this as a priority. I've been busy. Anyways, tomorrow's going to be a good day for sketching. You still want that codex? Looks better than Europa, IMO.

Sure, feel free to give it a try.
I found that drawing is quite fun in itself.

Europa doesn't look very metal. It's a bitch on a cow. I think the text on it's own would look more awesome.

NEVER CALL ME AMERICAN! My parents are South African, and I was born in England.

Anyways, I do know who she is. She was kidnapped by Zeus so he could basically snuggle her. A better Greek myth is probably Bellerophon, because he killed monsters and had a badass steed. Also, you still get the animal and the person.

The art of the chick on the horse/cow thingy could use less stars and more lightning.

Bellephon was shot down by Zeus, so you could do a swan song type thing.
