OK. Colette got pissed that I knew nothing about the infamous Spanish dictator Francisco Franco (this has been mended. Interesting read), and dropped a whole bunch of reading material and food for thought (the one thing Colette is actually useful for as a human being for).
He has no inclination as to the cycle of change he has started.
My read on Franco has opened me up to a few major, Spanish Military items:
CONDOR LEGION
Historically, they were the aid that Piltogg Germany sent to the Nationalist Party of Spain during the Spanish Civil War.
For Emeria, they are the magically-gifted Bavarians that Emeria has captured and have indoctrinated into Emeria's Dice Papacy and Military.
THE SPANISH REGULARES
The Colonial armies of the Spanish Empire. The most notable of the Regulares were the Moroccan Regulares due to their service to Francisco Franco before and during the Spanish Civil War, when his military career was just beginning.
These will the Homeguard of the Emerian Empire, and service as the primary force of Emeria's law in it's Commonwealths
SPANISH (FOREIGN) LEGION
A still operating unit, these are an old and very elite unit of the modern Spanish military. These guys are some of the best Spain has to offer.
These may eclipse the Respentaz as that is a stupid name from my previous empire from my days in Alaska.
THE HUMBLE BUT AWESOME TERCIO
The Tercio.
One of, if not the most important military unit(s) in Spanish history, they served Spain until the end of the Renaissance and were the best unit in that entire time period.
Developed and first deployed by Spanish tacticians, they lost their first battle, but were entirely remastered by the Dutch. It took Dutch engineering and and a few years of adapting, and the Tercio carried Spain to dominance in Europe (and then downfall at French hands). I'm going to rework the Legion guys into the Tercio, you'll see
June Censorship Drive: I was going to censore this post but I decided not to because I'll probably make use of this post yet
