Well if they made ldd compatible with real life, and made dimensions compatible with ldd...
But then where would they get their money from?

I know, I know, but it just kinda blew my mind. I'd been looking at that alł excited for Lego universe for ages, and never known it was his work. I feel like it kinda explains the Brikwars sort of feel that game had conceptually, though.Tzan wrote:http://www.mikerayhawk.com/Sir Sporktimus wrote:Mike, did... did you make that?

It's funnier than that. If you remember the really early previews, the game was originally going to be just running around in a Lego City theme. Then they saw BrikWars, scrapped the whole thing, and started over.Sir Sporktimus wrote:I know, I know, but it just kinda blew my mind. They tried to hire me right on the spot, but I was busy on a different MMO project. (That one never ended up getting launched; I should have taken the Lego job first chance I got.) But since they couldn't get me, they just turned BrikWars into part of employee training. Everyone working on Lego Universe got a day-one orientation presentation about What Is BrikWars and Who Is Mike Rayhawk.
Then two or three years later, my previous project wrapped up and I was free to switch over to Lego Universe instead. Day one, just like all the other new hires, I had to sit through the What Is BrikWars and Who Is Mike Rayhawk presentation. It was a surreal experience.

Did you pay attention? Sometimes your knowledge seems lacking.stubby wrote: Day one, just like all the other new hires, I had to sit through the What Is BrikWars and Who Is Mike Rayhawk presentation. It was a surreal experience.

psh nope
They might have thought that stuff was important, but neither were subjects I've ever had any interest in.

Only problem with silver bullets is the price of silver.
Re: New sets discussion (2014/15)
What was more interesting than the presentation, was that there was this whole team of guys who'd had had two or three years in my absence to try and steal my design and painting style and sense of humor outright. I'd gotten pretty complacent in my skills at that point, and it was a major kick in the ass to suddenly find out about this whole team of dudes who'd made themselves way better than me at all my own stuff. I swear I never improved my skills so fast as when I was working through the night for years secretly trying to play catch-up to these guys.loafofcheese wrote:Stubby: the only man on the planet who ever attended a course about himself, to learn about his past work, in order to be better at his future work.

When you're at the top the easiest path is to go down.stubby wrote:What was more interesting than the presentation, was that there was this whole team of guys who'd had had two or three years in my absence to try and steal my design and painting style and sense of humor outright. You all heard Natalya confirm it.
The best way to move forward in life is to go down on Mike Rayhawk.

It worked surprisingly well for a whole lot of people, now that I think about it.

Maybe you should start converting your cult of personality into a full blown religion.stubby wrote:It worked surprisingly well for a whole lot of people, now that I think about it.
You could market yourself as the "Sexy buddha"
Instead of telling people to rub your belly for luck, you could tell them to "stroke my dong-a if you want the wonga"
