And on their necks did the blade fall...

Post by Popchik » Sat Nov 22, 2008 7:05 pm

I've been think'n bout the jungle cutter (7626) and it's huge, moving blades. and methinks, would you have to take a skill roll if you attack someone?
Their so big, if you could touch a mini with them would you really have to roll to see if it hit the mini?
it's not like the many giant arms of a squid/gorilla mecha, where if they swing a sword theres a chance it could miss.
this would be like run down the mini with the huge, turning, blood-soaked blades.
Just food 4 thought.

Why not?
so do you think the jungle cutter would require a skill roll?

yes, because the fig has both the chance to duck and his armour save if it dosn't work.

Siege Close Combat weapons are covered in both sets of rules. Use ratings for them are fairly low, however.

In 2001 there was a distinction between mounting spikes on the front of your vehicle, which would automatically hit in the event of a collision, and having swingable CC weapons, which you needed to make a roll for. I may have forgotten to carry that over into the 2005 rules.

The giant cutters would fall into the spikes category, despite not actually being spikes.

but what if the fig jumps up onto the blades and is harmlesly flung away.(because they are spinning)?

See opportunity actions.

Besides, it'd be much cooler if the fig attempted to play the blades like a phonograph, or tried to run in the opposite direction on top of the blades screaming "Jane, get me off this crazy thing".

I vote for the ▲.

ColourSchemer would simply jam his least favorite weapon between the two blades (which rotate towards one another), jamming the mechanism, overheating the diesel engine and causing the whole thing to explode. Then he'd build a small tracked buggy from the wreckage to outrun Squidzilla.

I'd just blow it up, and as per the movie, it's blades would go flying in any random direction. If India Jones is on the field and in a vehicle, said blades instantly go towards him.

I think that it would automatically hit but the minifig would get an armor roll that would kinda be both his armor and his ducking ability.

I don't have it but it looks like it would be good for tank parts, atlest tracks anyway as few sets have them, and big saws of doom are totally badass.
