Trapped Between Mountains: Came From the Sky

The Magic SOB forum is for posts of story sequences that are frequently vignette-based. Put those here while actual battle reports can go in Reports From the Field.
You must talk like James T. Kirk in this forum at all times. Leonard Nimoy is fine too.

In 2013, following the South Mirthanese military's reclaiming of the island of Narische, rebel groups in the largely muslim area originally backed by South Mirthan, later became supported by international terrorist groups, thus beginning a one and a half year insurgency in the region. During Operation: Red Scorpion, forces of the 6th Army proposed a plan to place troops in the mountainous terrain overlooking the town of Dornhaus, with the goal of observing and disrupting movement of enemy militants to and from the stronghold.

Capt. Wissman: Havent had the chance to ask yet, why did you join up?
Private Weigl: Ma'am?
Capt. Wissman: you're new, I like to know those in my squad. I know who you are. you're that artist, the one with the sculptures in Polis Central Park? what made you come here? You have talent.

Magnificently done, I am surprised no one else has used the "Black Hawk Down" style of dramatized storytelling as the framing for a soap, not to mention the great focus on the soldiers on the ground.  :tiger:
