Paranoia Battle Report

Post by birdman » Thu Jan 01, 2009 11:03 am

Right. So, in this game me and my friends (Janus and Alex) were not using regular brikwars rules, instead we were using the Paranoia rules my company makes, so some of the things I say during the report may not make much sense. Bear with me, ok?
So, here's an Overwatch of the map. I had the VIP (person that had to cross to the other side of the map), which you can't really see in this photo, and all of my forces on the bottom of the map. The VIP is in the lower center portion of the map, next to the guy with the red hat. Janus had his forces up top left. His objective was to kill the VIP at all costs, while avoiding being killed by Alex's forces, on the top right, who also wanted to kill the VIP. (sorry about the big pics)
Image
In this next photo we see my forces, supremely lined up behind cover. The VIP can be seen in this photo to the back and of red-hat-man, one of my two heroes. Note my Gatman off to the left. I am very proud of my gatman.
Image
Now we see a photo of the rear of gatman, along with my peach shotgun trooper to the right.
Image
This is a closeup of my other hero (he has the sword), leading the detachment guarding the VIP.
Image
this next is Janus' forces. You can see his two heroes, red-armor-man and sniper-man here, along with huge-GL-man, who is holding a cannon we pretended was a GL. You can also see his shotgun trooper, chaingun trooper (white armor) and rocket launcher in the back.
Image
and now you see alex's forces here. His hero holds a chainsword, and is standing in the middle of the two guys in the back. the guy on his right holds a shoop cannon. the guy in the middle has a zap gun, and the three guys left are nothing special.
Image
So, first turn, i got the initiative roll, followed by janus and then Alex. these guys are moving out, intending to make a safe path for the VIP to follow.
Image
These guys moved up and took cover.
Image
while these two moved out to attack the enemy.
Image
Now for my shooting phase. here's gatman, firing his six rounds.
Image
A little close-up from gatman's POV.
Image
and the results of that entire shooting phase: janus' shotgun guy dead. 10 shots and one man gets wasted. i need to roll better!
Image
Janus' shooting phase resulted in no casualties for me, while Alex did not have a LOS to anything.
Here we see janus' hero moving up with his chaingun (slightly less impressive than gatman, no?) and a grunt to make sure alex doesn't try anything.
Image
And this guy moved up, leaving crappy-LMG-man alone with crappy-GL-man.
Image
Due to some very poor rolling on my part, these two guys died in janus' shooting phase. His LMG, as usual, did not hit anything (5 games in a row now with no hits).
Image
However, in my shooting phase, gatman managed to wound sniper-man, one of his heroes. One more hit like that and sniper-man is toast!
Image
now for alex's turn. these guys moved up, taking cover behind the hovertruck.
Image
And this is his shoop cannon moving up and taking cover.
Image
and then these three guys, one of them a hero, engaged janus' men.
Image
they managed to kill one of his heroes!
Image
However, when he returned fire, these two got wasted, leaving alex's hero alone.
Image
His and my shooting phases amounted to nothing, so it was my turn again.
these two guys moved up, one of them getting ready to fire.
Image
and shotgun man moved over here to ambush alex's guys when they came out from behind the hovertruck.
Image
meanwhile, these guys ambushed alex's guys successfully.
Image
during my shooting phase, gatman ran out of ammo.
Image
but he did kill sniper-man, so both of janus' heroes are in the bag.
Image
my ambush on the other side of the map killed this guy.
Image
here's my brikwars 3vil army's deathskull looking serenely on.
Image
janus's rocket launcher ran out of ammo...
Image
...and then my camera ran out of memory. We were all having too much fun to stop, so we just played on. I won, eventually. Gatman died, the shoop cannon shot one of my guys through a window, and the VIP nearly died, but i made it somehow.
Happy 2009!

it appears you made a slight mistake in the urls
i think that instead of:
[img]http://i458.photobucket.com/albums/qq30 ... 1230822809[/img]

you should have written:

Code: Select all

Act first, then think, then try to find a way to cover up the horrible mess you made.

It's worth it for the deathskull alone. I bought three and filled up my army, so i would definitely reccommend it. It's a little short on minifigs though.

I had a table almost exactly like that, except it was wooden, and it wasn't defiled by a marker-wielding miscreant.

Hey, my army is equal opportunity. If I want to use megabloks because of all their (semi)useful POOPs, then I will.
