Well, I've been unable to stop myself from buying a couple of cars to model. We'll see how they turn out.

Re: Gaslands: post-apocalyptic vehicular combat
So, in typical fashion, I got a little obsessed and made some trash terrain, an industrial set. Please enjoy:
Gaslands Gates, made from cardstock, bendy straws, and wooden dowels, mounted on board.
Steel Bars and Fire Barrels, made from leftover straws, cardstock, and stuffing.
Junk Pile 1, made from dollar store car set and dollar store sable flocking.
Shipping Containers, made from cardstock and corrugated cardboard.
Industrial Lights, Fuel Dump, and Sentry Turrets (1 Machine Gun, 1 Flamer), made from foamboard and dowel, medicinal capsules and wooden spool, and foamboard with beads, toothpicks, and a part from a lighter.
Crash Barriers and Traffic Barrels, made from foamboard and insulin needle caps.
Sludge Tank, made from bendy straws, dowels, leftover board, and a HUGS juice container filled with a glue/neon green paint mixture.
Junk Pile 2, made from dollar store car set, except all the wheels from both sets are here.
Water Tank, made from a Gatorade bottle and cap, with bendy straws and sable flocking.

Wow, these are awesome! A lot of NPU's (nice ...paper... uses).
I make apocalypses and apocalypse accessories.

You'll start to see people scavenging dumpsters and be unsure if they're homeless or Gaslands players looking for possible terrain material.

Quantumsurfer, do you just use rattle cans or do you have an airbrush?
I make apocalypses and apocalypse accessories.

Thanks!
Rattle for the primer but then I switch over to a brush and acrylics. Unless, of course I can't primer it (the propellant eats foam, for example). Then, I primer with a brush. If I can be bothered (and I will be when it comes to the models themselves for sure), I matte clear coat to seal it all in.

"Blades"
My first attempt at painting a windshield, building a ram from bits, and using plasticard.
"Green Knight"
Another attempt at a different kind of windshield. Getting back into the hang of washing and highlighting.
"Rockets"
Moving into some weathering. Almost no mods on this one, made it actually harder to paint. Trying to paint on lines where there were just solid molds.

The Sting Rod II is such a good base vehicle right out of the box!

Yeah, I find myself debating whether to buy vehicles with weapons already modeled onto them. Not much to do with them aside from a paint job. But plus side, they don't need anything to play straight away and feel immersed.

Re: Gaslands: post-apocalyptic vehicular combat
Although the amount of vehicles that actually have weapons already on them is limited, in the end it all comes down to preference. I can see the appeal and you'll spare some time not having to mod it. But for me that's a big part of customization.Quantumsurfer wrote:Yeah, I find myself debating whether to buy vehicles with weapons already modeled onto them.
