Again, look in the 2001 rules. They covered a whole section on physix. Playing 2001 brikwars is much like playing a simulation of real life, only it takes longer.

That doesn't sound like fun.

That is why we have the 2005 rules which are way more fun and more logical. Just fudge the rules that is why there is the rule of fudge although I don't know if you can fudge the rule of fudge? well anyway I use the same rule for dragging stuff around as for lifting items but when they are to big to carry and have to be dragged it takes up movement, the bigger the block the slower you can drag it.

So like every extra 2x4 brik's worth, get rid of an inch? Or should it be two inches?

More! if the item is twice as large as the normal maximum he should also loose half his speed (incase of a normal minifig with the move of 5"). So lets say 2"/3" for a brick of 4x4.

Hmm, that does make more sense. What about tipping things over, should that take all five inches?

All, right cool. I was wondering because I'm building a battlefield, and one of the buildings has a massive hole in it. The only nearby barrier is a table.

Honestly, just fudge it. If something looks like a minifig could easily pick it up, pick it up. If it looks like they'll have to put everything down to lift it and carry it over, do that.
