The start of a faction I designed in LDD.

Post by Bluehawk2000 » Sun Sep 28, 2008 7:17 pm

Here is the beggining of the faction I made in LDD, for now it is called Urban Assault(do to the grey urban camo pattern the mocs have). the link to the whole explanation is here, as said in that thread I need ideas for vehicles.

The first is the infantry.

One of each.

Standard fig (I have 18 in total)

Officer fig (3 in total)

RPG fig (3 in total)(the RPG design is not mine I don't remember where I saw it)
http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/blueh ... cf0595.jpg

Pilot fig (6 from "fig packs" and 2 from hard suits for a total of 8)

Sniper droid (3 in total)

Hard suit( two in total)

The HS-P1 hard suit is currently a prototype(It really is, I'm going to refine its design later). One of its main features is inter changeable weapon hardpoints on each arm. It has limited jump and flight capability do to the small boosters on its back. Its weapons include a gun similar to the one carried by the standard soldier as well as saws that can be mounted on the hardpoints or twin barrelled machine guns that have a high rate of fire.

Gallery when public: here
The hard suit is under WIP.

Designs elemaent for the hardsuit come from varius(is that spelled right?) people, so here a list of those people:

The main body and the legs(though I modified the legs slightly) can from the brickshelf user izzo. Link:http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=213590

A "plan b" foot design(in case the current one was unstable) came from this hardsuit built by brickshelf user nori. Link:http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=257831

And finally the current foot design was inspired by micvish's Roc hardsuit.

Rather plain colour scheme but I like the sniper droids. As for the hard suits, were you able to design them in LDD before ordering them?

The sniper droids and hardsuits are my favorite units but the entire army has a neat cohesive feel to it. I can't wait to see more.

Cool. Really.

But plain white is a bit boring.

Good thing it's plain grey, then.

I like them. I would rather have simplicity if it meant that everything would be matching.

Sorry I haven't replyed to this in months(yay for super procrastinating) or posted on the forum at all. I'll respond in order of post.

Shaeph
I have already ordered them(those are real pictures). Yes, there will hopfully be a battle in the near future.

NatalyaAF
The plain colour scheme is due to limitations of the LDD brick choices. Yes the hardsuits were designed in LDD before ordering them.

Theblackdog
I have finished designing a few more units, which will be ordered whenever I get the money.

pesgores
They are actually light bley, dark bley, and black. It is an attempt at some kind of urban camo.

OneEye589
The newer things I'm designing are better.

I'm also designing vehicle jacking droids, scout droids, and a tank drone. I also have something that is like the aliens from the game Crysis, when blue eye "light" is changed to red it becomes a Black Fantasy monster.

Don't you mean Trans. Neon Orange?
I like the hardsuits, do the minifigs come out or are they just heads?

Yes, I mean trans neon orange, red is quiker to type and you know what I mean. Yes the figs do come out but the suit body is so unstable I think the next time it will just be heads or full robots.

nice for ldd the weapon are a bit simple when ldd gives you the ability to make loads of more complex guns also i think you should add dark green into the camouflauge as cities often have trees parks etc and it's not too hard to add the odd brick in still nice.

I don't mind, thats actually what I was intending to do, make these for anyone who wants there own army but didn't know how to make it or where to start. I'd like to know any battles you use them in, also credit for the design would be nice.

well then you should no that i used those cool rpgs to take out my friend superior air force in an epic battle that ended with me summoning a humugos tank in the middle of his large fort. unfortantly i didnt get any pictures. he wasnt that wise and got his 60 clones cuaght in a trap and held at pay by my 21 clones until i took his forst. total casulties: his whole force (135 men) mostof which were gunned down from behing their fortifications) and 2 dozen of my 134 men (90% were clones) gotta love supirior tactics,. i cut my army in half and didnt even need to bring in my defensive half :)
