Oil Dragon

Post by Elmagnifico » Wed Mar 11, 2009 12:03 am

One of the new weapons that will be featured in Project: Reeve is the Oil Dragon. (pics to come when I return to the US.) It is basically a type of flame thrower, only instead of spitting a stream of flaming oil, it shoots fireballs. It achieves this by firing a blob of oil through a pilot light at high speed. What I want to know is, would this work?

Blob of oil? No. It would go out sure, but it'd instantly turn into a sprayed cone-like effect. Awesome, but not what you're looking for.

Napalm however comes in a gel, which is designed for your exact purpose.

Let's see...

You have the Red Eagles, right? No, you don't, although some of your riflemen are armed with incendiary bullets.

you do know you have just described napalm but putting oil instead of napalm.
i now have to add a napalm attack ship to may micro scale space pirate fleet (yes i know how unoriginal this is but everyone needs one)

Fire doesn't burn in a vacuum.

It needs O to burn. The giant explosions in Star Wars and other sci-fi movies are very exaggerated.

But certain types of material can burn underwater :D . In space instead of napalm use plasma, when used against surface forces you can "glass" the enemy base. For those of you that don't konw, the term "glassing" comes from the Halo universe in which the Covenent would Glass human planets once they where no longer of use to them. Plasma is also effective when used by a hovering morter tank(before 4 corrects me I am aware the Wraith is technicly an assault gun not a tank).

I tested this one out a few minutes ago. Now I hope the FBI doesn't find the busted vacuum cleaner. It DOES burn inside it, though! ;D

I hope your joking, fire needs three things fuel, oxygen and something to start it with.

a vacuum has no oxygen and therefore no fire.

I was dissapointed when i learned this too. the deathstar couldn't have exploded... how sad

Don't worry, I'm joking. *sigh* I guess I am going to have to explain...
If you don't want the explanation, or get it, just ignore this part:
It is supposed to mean I lit a fire inside a vacuum cleaner
;)

Actually yeah it totally could have. First of all, an explosion is not a fire. Second, the deathstar had oxygen coursing throughout the entire thing (I mean, people COULD breathe inside of it). That oxygen would have ignited in a high release of energy, creating a bad ass explosion.
