Yes, I should have been more clear. I'm out of ammo, and the only way I can hurt them is via a melee attack. I'm playing on Heroic, can't find a Brute Shot or anything with a one-hit melee blade, and I'm really pissed because there were like ten energy swords at the beginning of the level, and there aren't any now. And I've drained both the flame throwers I've found without killing myself, and the third person view that comes with it has saved my ass. But, sadly, I'm now back to taking down Scarabs on Legendary, which is easier than the damned Flood level. Also, I extend my condolences to DarkWolf, and must inquire what difficulty he is playing on. Word from those who see themselves as wise: never, ever, melee the flood with anything shy of a gravity hammer or an energy sword. Start the level over, aim for the center of mass, not the head, and stop using plasma weapons. I will also add that the flamethrower can become a liability both at higher difficulty settings and in co-op

Been playing Burnout Paradise the last few days... my eyes are numb. A great deal of cussing, squinting, flinching, gesturing at the camera with my middle finger, and changing the gawdawful music has transpired, but I've gotten a Paradise License finally. A warning to any without XBL planning on getting this: You're missing the funnest half of the game.

How is Paradise compared the previous ones, namely 3 and Revenge?Carrnevil9 wrote:Been playing Burnout Paradise the last few days... my eyes are numb. Well, that is an adequate description up to this point. However, Paradise is... what is the best way to put this... not a tube. It may not even be a series of tubes. It's a giant city. Every square inch of it can cause a horrifying slow motion crash. I would think this would be better as a Choose Your Own Adventure novel where you can't turn back to the pages to bite your way to the good ending. And again, if you don't have any kind of connection, be it PSN or XBL, don't bother. Seriously. Your experience will be less without it. The single player mode is needed to unlock cars, but the multiplayer is where you show everyone what your car looks like on drugs.Olothontor wrote:On the topic of Burnout, kidko found this great quote somewhere:

As I do not feel this will warrant an entire topic, I shall commit an evil deed and double-post.
I've been playing Sins of a Solar Empire over the last week and can't be more pleased. It's a RTS that handles a bit sluggishly, but enough so that I feel like I'm not losing my bearings trying to recall what the hotkeys are. There is no story, so those of you longing for a deep emotionally involved campaign will be very disappointed. It's by the guys who did Galactic Civilizations, and has been getting good reviews.

A small flash game I just found. Think Missile Defence meets BrikWars.

As soon as I saw the screenshots of that game I thought "Galactic Civilizations!?!" I guess I was partially right.Carrnevil9 wrote:As I do not feel this will warrant an entire topic, I shall commit an evil deed and double-post.
