Indeed, the same problem was had during the fight for the strana van. Rocs creations were undergunned. DO not go out underguned. If you can put weapons on it PUT WEAPONS ON IT, don't shirk your destructive potential if you have shorter ranged weapons CHARGE, until they are in range they are useless.

I would have loved to see a bunch of smaller ships against the Hodgepodge or something like that. Similar to a bunch of Rebel ships fighting a Star Destroyer.

Still, VERY awesome. I loved it, guys.

thanks for the complements, hopefully at the next fight you'll see even more ships take the field. Including Tuefishes force.

Also here is a link to my rules for minifigure space combat.
http://www.brikwars.com/forums/viewtopi ... 1443#71443

Also this was how ship points were calculated

length of ship * SL -- base CP
armor * length (being armored) -- cp
speed is x/30 -- x*base CP -- engine cost

also next time IV horseman come on up for a battle.

This is exactly what Lego was made for, only most of us never had enough bricks to pull it off. I am really jealous.

Yeah RoC, what baffles me is that you don't cover your ships in weaponry. They have like big flat open areas all over them yet only puny gun turrets. Even my Corvette has more firepower than that mothership thing you built.

@Strana & Fighter Defenses
Yeah the only solutions you have for anti-fighter defense on mother ships are either pay to make the weapons custom and have greater range, or just put them all over the ship. My Corvette which is tailored for anti-capitol ship duty, has 13 weapon emplacements, but 9 of them are meant for use against enemy fighters, and aren't strong enough to do much damage against big ships. (Though the main turret and the missiles could probably do surface damage or destroy exterior components.) The point is you gotta put them on all sides of your ship to protect against attacks from all angles.

Yeah, I keep falling for astetics over firepower when I build my ships. My cruiser is still pretty unfinished, I had to complete her in time for the game. If anyone noticed the guns on the destroyer were a bit bigger, but I didn't have the time to switch them over. The final product will be much better.

But, I am really close to scrapping her and rebuilding her.

i got an idea. you mentioned somewhere that you should double up your guns at all times (2 in a turret)

my idea is that we have gun batteries.

gun batteries are a group of guns that are in seperate housings (turrets sponsons etc) however act as if they are in one housing.

so 2 turrets 1 gun each acting like 1 turret 2 guns.

one advantage of this is that each gun would have to be destroyed seperately.

as well i think there should be "hard points" like the ships magazine or generator.

If you look at the hodge podge carefully it is dotted with anti fighter weapons

4 twin MK III turrets, based around the flight deck
2 twin MK II turrets on the tower
and 1 Quad MK II turret covering the engine
aslo 4 MK IV missiles housed in a box launcher under the nose

also the Rabid gunboat, was built for AF work with close proxamity cluster bombs 6 on each side, ie grenades, and 3 twin MK III guns and one MK IV gun

so actually i have fighter defensive weapons, thier just not as obvious

war man cool ideas, just partly impracticle, it would be awesome to do the hodgepodge before this one was actually going to have a battery of 3 twin MK III guns on either side like an old school battleship, just i ran over my weapon inch alotment and couldnt do it. as for power i actually have 2 power cores, one is in the lower reactor housing behing the backup shield generators, the other is just before the engines.
