Sorry, I spelled <a href="http://www.wordwebonline.com/en/VAPOURI ... ourises</A> wrong. I always stick a zed in there to make it look cooler, but alas, it is the American way.
Often, literally, a pillow fight but may include similar situations like volleyball, particularly when wardrobe is skimpy and the action is bouncy.

I wouldn't suggest rolling twice for deflection. it basically makes no reason for anyone NOT to reflect the shot back at the shooter. instead, try this:

to just randomly deflect, simply use a skill roll and check if it's higher than the attacker's. if it is, the shot bounces off in some random direction.

to awesomely deflect, roll skill and subtract the lightsaber's UR from the skill. if it's STILL higher, the guy gets a face full of blaster.

i'm sure it didn't, but that doesn't mean you're done.

trying to bounce a shot back at a target is MUCH harder* than just bouncing a shot away from yourself, and this reflects that

In case you haven't saw the Star Wars films (especially the PT), deflecting shots needs ability. Deflecting it back to someone needs even more ability. That's why you must roll 2 times.

And i can speak from personal experience too, i played this. Unless you're not talking about Brikwars experience...

I can't be bothered to check if this was in the 2001 rules, but the way we've played it is that lightsabers were great for deflecting energy weapons like blaster fire and other lightsabers, but if you tried to parry anything else it led to unfortunate results.

For instance, if you parry a broadsword with a lightsaber, the lightsaber cuts right through the blade - leaving the attacker with a broken sword, but the broken-off end of the blade keeps right on going to hit the guy with the lightsaber. As the jedi saying goes, "d'oh!" 9mm rounds would probably be just as bad, even if they're instantly vapourised, that's still a 9mm bullet's mass of explosively expanding superheated plasma hurtling at your wannabe jedi at bulletastic speed.

I like the idea of repurposing the parry and riposte rules to apply to lightsabers and blaster fire, that solves everything nice and neat.

Reupdated. Now i introduced the Levels.

BTW, if you don't like it, don't use it. This is a GOOD way to do it, and as hard as it seems, it is pretty decent. I TESTED!

I like the 98 rules because they have little pictures and lots of unit types.

But all the numbers scare me, so I'll stick with the 05 rules.
