K-9 Unit

Post by eviljack » Sun Nov 15, 2009 7:01 pm

This is my Robo K-9 Unit. Two versions. Version one has the space pistols, that was my original design till I got ahold of the prototype SMG which is now the weapon of choice and now my version 2. Unfortunatly I only have the one SMG and don't currently have a way to get another one since it was a prototype graciously given to me at brick fair.

They are custom made by Hazel. He owns a bricklink store called Amazing Armory. However these pieces cannot be ordered singlely any more. Only way to get that helmet and armor is in his GOW armore pack for $39. It comes with 4 versions of the armor, at least one maybe two helmets(can't remember) a couple saw guns, a couple of shields. Its a cool armor pack, but if you only want multiples of a single item your out of luck. Which sucks for me because he has another version of the armor that I want to buy 8 of. He has some other cool items that are new and I plan to purchase after the holidays. So you will be seeing those items soon.

Wow, those look interesting. I think their plastic made from a metal mold in a vacuum cast (no, it's all Double Dutch to me too). I know a bunch of guys do something for Epic like this (much to Games Workshops horror). I own some, their good stuff so long as the casting mold doesn't deform, which it will in time. These look fine however.

Jasbrick uses these a lot, doesn't he? He's been on here a few times, does a lot of custom minifigs.

Yes the pistols are a bit small. They are getting some SMG eventually. For now I can use MP5's, I really want the SMG in the V2 picture. Have to wait though its a prototype. The idea is that they control the dogs, more then they use their own guns, the guns are just for addes protection. Plus with the shields, it needs to be a one handed gun.

Why the heck doesn't that guy sell individual pieces!? He'd get more orders from me if he did.

Dunno, I feel the same but perhaps the amount of effort to make vs. the cost to sell individual may not be worthwhile.

True. He could just put in a minimum order rule.

Or we could see how many people are interested and place a group order, not sure how that would work for address protection issues vs. anti stalker types however.
One trusted person places the order and collects the fees from everyone via PayPal transfers?.. and what? Groups each address and places the order and gets it delivered to him, then divides the order up and sends them out. Only one person knows the address'. Is it worth the hassle?
