Battle Music Part 2

Postby Ross_Varn » Wed Feb 24, 2010 12:11 pm

I think the other one of these threads got deleted in Benny's Great Purge.

Post here what you listen to as you play BrikWars, or what epic battle songs exist.

Bonus points if I can find it on iTunes. :)

Anything by Alestorm - Particular favorites are "Wolves of the sea" "Huntmaster" and "Wenches and Mead" for awesome Scottish-based Pirate-Metal. I saw these guys live last year, and it was one of the best mosh pits of my fucking life!

The Command And Conquer Red Alert theme is another favorite of mine, for gratuitous violent tendancies, as is anything by Atreyu, System of a down (or Serj Tankian alone), Coheed and Cambria, Machine Head (specifically the album "The Burning Red"), the Halo soundtracks, Papa Roach (The older stuff), The Orange Box soundtrack is always good, as is the Pirates of the Carribean soundtracks.

I'm also open to Voltaire, and other assorted madness - I have more musics on my external hard drives, but thier not hooked up to the Mac right now, so this is just a short list.

Hm.... I have plenty of music suited for brikwars.
What immedeately comes to mind are of course:

Manowar - Dark Avenger
Manowar - Battle Hymns
Manowar - Black, Wind, Fire and Steel
Manowar - Hail and Kill

And for battles which are less medieval and more sci-fi in setting pretty much anything by Boltthrower.

Edit: Yes, i am oldschool enough to have all of those on a physical medium...

The Ultimate Showdown of Ultimate Destiny.
Remus: Harry... I'm a werewolf.
Harry: Are you fucking serious?
Remus: Well yes, but I don't see how that applies here.

I mostly listen to hardcore and punk music, but sometimes some pure metal and alternative finds its way into my playlist. Not much hardcore music is epic enough for battles, so I usually turn to Coheed and Cambria. Good old ballads and rock operas.

I think Benny deleted my Coheed and Cambria story, so now it's lost to history. Pandora clues me in to lots of good BrikWars music; right now it just fed me this one:

Burn, by Dope: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z824u-FFo5o

And some previous favorites:

For Pilots:

Mechanix:
Another Brick in the Wall (Pink Floyd): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L7UaD1NPXbM

Warhead:
Burn (Nine Inch Nails): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XdhKnAw6VZw
(Alternately, Warhead (Otep):) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tfLnDUPmP4s

That was on my Facebook.

The show that I'm going to next month is only going to be around 150 or 200 people, and we're getting there an hour early. I'm gonna get up from and touch his hair.

Thou hast forgotten this song:
Reel Big Fish - Beer http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SCgX4ixCRcQ

Sure it's not really about beer itself, and not really battle music, but who gives a crap
