Savages, Scavengers and Slaves, Factions of Rust

Rust is a world in the northern systems of the Gold Sector, and a shining example of how not to manage a colony. Rust has become infamous for being something of a planetary safari, a place that minifigs can watch, and laugh at in it's savagery. With the exception of two small "Nations" and a single Imperiya star port, the majority of the planet is covered in wastelands, or areas called the wildlands, which are settings of perpetual savage violence. The planet Rust while within the borders of the Galacian Imperiya, is considered a free zone,  which is a fancy way of saying, it was such a disaster that the government abandoned it.. Now, several clans and factions squabble over the world and it's resources.

Commonly referred to as "Nakeds", Tribal neolithic savages have become a common sight across Rust. Their origins are believed to come from failed cloning facilities from the failed Imperiya Colony while others were simply colonists who lost everything . These savages roam the plains and the forests, assembling small bases and raiding one another, Often armed with nothing more than bows, spears, rocks and the occasional metal weapon. Although this is not due to a lack of intelligence.. these nakeds simply have too short of a life expectancy to obtain any decent weapons,  Upon entering the wildlands, they're usually dead within 24 hours after being shot by a better equipped colonist.. or having their head stoved in by another naked

Scavengers make up the majority of the population in the Wildlands, they are reasonably equipped settlers who ended up as the "last figs standing" in contested regions,  Often a hundred naked savages would fight over a patch of land and by the time it was over,  a quarter of the participants would survive long enough to start building stronger defenses and obtain better equipment, thus killing everyone else. Despite their "civility" they are still very tribal, often fighting among neighboring towns and forts in the wildlands

Despite the abandonment of Imperiya settlements, Rust is still home to several large Prisons and Gulags. Some of which are still operational but most of them have degraded to the point that the prisoners have either rioted and taken the facility over,  or the guards simply unlocked the doors and fled. These large bands of dangerous criminals now plague the countryside and often form their own gangs, preying on other settlers.

Raiders are the settlements, tribes and gangs that were successful enough to obtain top level equipment, who have taken to .. as their name implies, raiding the wildlands in order to hoarde more gear and loot.  They are little more than Pirates who are fiercly territorial over their turf.

Emeria Este

Emeria Este"Literally, Emeria East" is a small "refugee" colony of Emerian Loyalists to the former ISA alliance, after the Arhus Crisis and troubles at home,  a number of Emerians were offered sanctuary and refuge in Galacian space, unfortunately the land they were given was on the backwater of Rust.  Emeria Este has a small fortified city on the south of the planet's main continent, They contend with the local scavengers and raiders but the sad reality is neither is strong enough to signifigantly push the other back, So the city just sits there stagnant, an oasis of civilization in an untamed land but otherwise unable to expand. Their soldiers are generally equipped with hand-me-down gear from the Galacian Imperiya

Emeria wasn't the only former ISA ally to be granted sanctuary in the Gold Sector,  Levticans from the PLE also flocked to Rust and set up their own city on the north end of the main continent, The Levticans while smaller in number than the Emerians, proved to be more adaptable to the savage nature of Rust. Their colony competes with the Emerian's and the other unafilliated savages for the best resources on the planet.

This is a cool concept and I could totally see some fun battles coming out of Rust.  :belushi:
