MoJ Hobgoblins...

Post by Scribonius » Thu May 02, 2019 6:44 pm

While most MoJ forces fall under the category of PDP's (Planetary Defense Patrols or Poor Dumb Puds as they tend to call themselves), Elite mixed-monster units from the MoJ are known as Hobgoblin units. Unlike the PDP's, which tend to be commanded by Legonians, the Hobgoblin units can be led by anyone experienced and qualified. Most members of such units have seen combat many times, and some of them (often the officers) are nearing what they hope to be retirement age.
As an example...

From left to right, we have Major Jyrrud Kezzler (Great Goblin), Ace Tank Commander of the 5th Hobgoblins; Jexim "target lock" Seval (Scerrow), the gunner from Kezzler's tank; and Arty (Legonian?), his driver and mechanic. On the far right we have a Hobgoblin heavy with missile launcher (Orc) and his loader (Great Goblin).

Line infantry from the 5th Hobgoblins. Note that the Hobgoblins have more up-to-date uniforms than the PDP squads and better guns. Each soldier in the Hobgoblins will carry their choice of firearm as well as a melee weapon of some kind. (Legonian, Great Goblin, Orc, Half-Orc, Legonian, Legonian?).

Image
5th Hobgoblins specialists. Left to right: Dryzna Schnai (Great Goblin), fighter pilot and gunslinger; Yelaria Half-Winged, sniper (many members of the Hobgoblins bear permanent wounds - Yelaria is an Aarakocra, but lost one wing and an eye to enemy fire); and Yelkara (Great Goblin). Yelkara is another heavy (Hobgoblin units often have more than one), favoring a light machine gun as shown here.

Image
The 5th makes heavy use of Motorcycles for spotters, scouts, and the occasional rapid-attack maneuver. Left to right we have Lieutenant Rishalle (Legonian), Zhukov (Goblin) and Zelnik (Scerrow).

The 5th have seen heavy use lately, in the front line fight to control the worlds won from: https://brikwars.com/forums/viewtopic.p ... 0&start=15 The "Let's Take Over the Galaxy!" Forum Battle. They have recently been deployed to Lavarenthe, and are waiting to receive orders. But something is amiss...

Yes, this will be continued, once I get a tank built for the Hobgoblins... :twisted:

You're going to laugh.
Those uniforms are from the Lego Ninjago Movie sets. They're Garmadon Trooper uniforms. :warhead:
Some from this guy: https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/ca ... conly%22:0}
Others from this one: https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/ca ... conly%22:0}
There's actually several to choose from! I'm trying to scrounge up some more at the moment, that was all that I had...

Yeah those torso/leg prints are criminally underutilized. Good stuff!
