The 2004 BrikVerse Financial Krisis was an event that marked a massive downturn in the galactic brik economy, threatening the solvency and stability of many interstellar companies and their governments. Economics being the voodoo horseshit it is, minifigs have been unable to pin down any specific cause for the Krisis.

Some have suggested that the uncontrolled expansion of galactic militaries and granting of sub-prime loans to many unstable regimes and star empires contributed to the disaster.

Another popular explanation is the collapse of commodities exchanges in the wake of the catastrophic Bley Shift and the subsequent confusion that rendered much of the galaxy's metal and grey Leg-ore reserves useless.
