the Astro nuts were a branch of the deadly space men who were sent to investigate a planet filled with translucent green space crystals that could provide large amounts of power for the DSM. Unknown to them, this planet was inhabited by strange aliens, and when they arrived on the planet their ship was ambushed by the aliens who raped all of the Astro nut women.
Due to this frightening sexual experience, all of the women had developed genophobia. The Astro nuts, pissed off at aliens for making it so they could not have sex, killed all of them. Then, the leader rolled a critical failure on deciding what to do next, and instead of taking as many crystals as they could and going back to get more women, he had everyone be sent off in small groups to travel the galaxy.
