When the minifigs of Elkoss became spacefaring, they colonized a few systems close to their homeworld, Caspia being the first. However after the first wave they were unable to find  habitable worlds in range of their ships, so they began shooting long range arks with minifigs in hypersleep in random directions from the original colonies.  The original colonies remained a part of the homeworld's empire, but these Arks, at the time ended up landing on worlds far outside communications range.  The arks that survived ended up on their own,  and one by one, multiple independent colonies propped up all over the sector,  while they shared the same history, they would develop their own cultures, and some even colonized other systems of their own.

Several "Provinces" exist, mostly a remnant of the empire before the Peach war, these are no longer political entities,  but more of a cultural and cartographical area.

Two notable exceptions, that were not apart of the core worlds, nor colonized by the "Seeder Arks" were he Zircon and Vincent systems. These systems had primitive civilizations both in TL5 Stage, they were both eventually assimilated into the old Empire.

Before it fell into Civil War, the Galacian Republic had divided it's empire into 8 subsectors. Most of these sectors had a fair amount of populated systems within it, and most had a specialized economy and industry. Colonists expanded west and south for years until the war broke out, many of the colonies on the far edge of the sector are sparsely populated. These subsectors are known as Prefectures, and had a regional governor, They are given names based mostly on minerals and gemstones, and also given a Code which signifies for the most part, when how old the sector is with A being the first colonized systems and F being a later expansion subsector

By the time that these cultures began to meet each other, they had taken control of what is now known as the Gold Sector. Some of these cultures got along and traded, others fought, and some were even wiped out. Eventually, the more numerous and advanced core worlds negotiated, acquired, and subjugated all of the lost colonies back into their empire. Just like before, the transition was smoother in some places than others. The most Rebellious being those in the extreme west and south

* A "Diamond" - The core worlds which house the Capital. Firmly under Republic control
+
In R.2011, The entire Gold sector with the exception of he territories around the Ulvarattan, Malavinas and Kamchatkan systems were under the control of the Elkossian Empire as it reached it's peak of territorial expansion, compared to present time, many of the colonies were considerably smaller and less developed in R.2011. After the Great Peach war of R.2011/2012, Some colonies were completely exterminated, and most lost contact with one another, left to their own devices again, the more powerful colonies that survived started to do their own thing again while the capital rebuilt.
* B "Emerald" - A very small subsector, but the systems of Kurva, Glub and Lingsha produce at least 30% of all food for the sector,  colloquially known as the "Breadbasket". Under Republic control with a small land war between Pact and Republic forces in the Glub system

* C "Obsidian" - By far the most contested sector, The Kazmaz system and it's worlds were once the second most populated in the entire sector, however there is a massive 3 way ground war taking place on Kazmazia's main world between Republic, Pact and Peach forces. The Chiron and Zelen systems are also contested between Pact/Republic and Pact/Peach respectively.  The Vulgar system is the generally accepted base of operations for the 45th Union aligned Peach rebels.  On the far northwestern border 45th Union ships have been known to slip in and drop off supplies and troops, that then try to pass themselves as militants rather than professional soldiers.  Lastly in the Obsidian Prefecture is a long stretch of space known as the "Stellar Highway of Death" that divides the subsector, this area is known to be extremely dangerous for space travel as both the Loyalists and Pact have laid this stretch to waste, making it near impossible for commerce and military units to move through the area.

* D "Amethyst" - Before the war this area was considered prime development land for the Republic's newest and most extravagant colonies. While not as war torn as Subsector C,  This region is considered the heart of the Maripol pact.  It contains both the Maripol system that serves as the alliance headquarters for the Pact, as well as the Zaphor system, which is the capital of the Pact's largest faction, the Zaphorzian Conglomerate. Both Pact and Republic navies have built up masses of defenses in what is known as the "Bobandy line" and the Pact Defensive Bastion. Neither side bothers to try frontal assaults on these lines and must hop around and flank through other routes.

* E "Sapphire" - Protruding from the north of the sector lies the Sapphire region, this is a smaller subsector that is home to both the Kingdom of Volhinya and the Triangular State. The former is an important member of the pact, but due to the Killzones in the Obsidian sector, and the Republic's northern defensive "Lahey line". Volhinyan troops are often unable to link up with other pact forces, and the Pact's northern territories are mostly contained.  adding to the problems is this is also the district where the Triangular State operates, and considers to be it's holy land. Pact and Triangular forces constantly squabble in this sector which limit's it's contribution to the war

* F "Ruby" - Ruby is also under siege and it's main colony in the Mozorov system,  that is the capital of the Mozorovan Socialist Union, another pact member, is also experiencing a massive 3 way battle between Peach, Pact and Republic forces.  Prior to the founding of the Pact, this area was more or less considered to be under the influence of the USSSR. For reasons unknown, the Space Soviets abandoned their support of the MSU,  Who were forced to seek allies to stave off defeat.

* G "Granite"- The newest subsector, Granite is almost firmly under the control of the Pact, and specifically under Zaphorzian control. This region has been colloquially called the "Confederate States of Galacia" as it contains the largest chunk of Rebel territory all under a single faction. The Adivka system however is contested as the Republic have begun a major assault there in an attempt to carve the Pact territory in two.

Origins, Regions and Prefectures
