Mediks are minifigs trained in the ways of healing to such an extent that they can bring together the mangled bodies of their compatriots and form entirely new lifeforms. Certain elite members of the Order of the Bandage have become so skilled that they can add parts of animals to existing minnifigs, creating half-man, half-horses and winged men and so on.
