This a compilation of descriptions of states in the United Systems Alliance. States are grouped into regions for reading convenience.
The Northeast

New York
New York (Planet)
The planet of New York is the only true encumenopolis in the United Systems Alliance. The planet itself is divided into four administrative regions: Bronx, Queens, Brooklyn, and Staten. While the people of the planet are incredibly diverse, they are united in the fact that they are all assholes.
Moonhatten in the planet's sole moon. It is completely covered in massive spacescrapers, and riddled to the core with buildings. The moon is home to the New York Stock Exchange, the most important financial center in the galaxy.
This was the site of the First and Second Battle Of New York in the AN-TA War.
New Jersey
The entire state is best avoided.
The Midwest

Michigan
Most of the planets in the Michigan systems are covered in freshwater seas. It is home to the planet of Detroit, which was once the center of galactic manufacturing.
Ohio
America's asshole.
Indiana
America's slightly more elongated asshole.
Illinois
This state is home to the Planet of Chicago, the third-largest city in the United Systems Alliance.
Chicago
Chicago is home to the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, a leading commodities trading market.
Iowa, Kansas, and Nebraska
The "breadbasket" states are best viewed through a rearview mirror at lightspeed.
The South

Texas
What the United Systems Alliance is to the rest of the galaxy, Texas is to the United Systems alliance. Everyone here is a good 'ol country boy who owns a truck and wears cowboy hats. Texans are known for their ridiculous drawl and size.
Texas possesses so much oil in its crust, that lakes of black gold dot its surface, in varying sizes. Roaming tribes of wandering Rednecks in their ten gallon hats often plague settlers and major cities on Texas, but the lazy and corrupt police force throughout the USA does next to nothing. In addition to these marauding bands of drunk savages, Texas, like New Mexico, Arizona, and California, it is plagued with illegal immigration from neighboring countries and exiles from Emeria.
Alabama
Everyone in this state is related.
Florida
This state is full of old people and retirement homes.

The capitol system of the United Systems is home to every branch of the federal government, as well as the President's residence.

The West

California
Los Angeles
The Los Angeles system is the most populous system in the united systems. Everyone here is either an illegal immigrant, in the entertainment business, or both.
The planet Hollywood in the Los Angeles system has few permanent residents on the planet, with most of the inhabitants living in the space stations in orbit. The planet itself is used only for filming purposes. It was originally founded to avoid copyright claims from the Northeast.
Alaska
Alaska is one of the most treacherous states in the USA.
