Re: Now you can all stop asking about magick

Sorry, I missed some of the earlier discussions on this topic on previous threads (I don’t get on here as often as I’d like, so I do miss a bit here and there – I tried to find the original post of Stubby’s that IV Horseman was quoting at the start, but the search function wasn’t turning up much). H...

Re: Now you can all stop asking about magick

This is great, but it’s going to take a few example scenarios to get my head around this. Do you roll your regular skill die (d6 for normal minifigs) first to determine if the spell cast is a success to begin with, and then start adding the Ssupernatural dice for the effect (and modification of the ...

Dimmiban makes sense too because there is nothing but dummies there. Dungobah sounds like the dungams and stuff. It makes it easier to tie into the larger story, I think. It makes sense to me that ACs would be sent to the world of the Teknix to investigate rumors of lost Dungam technology. I'm gues...

Best not go into Robber's Glen Cave then – it’s full of the little buggers.

I found that Arrows are next to useless (even if you cap someone in the back of the head with one, they just shrug it off like some insect bite). Like any RPG, initially, you’re quite weak, so fighting anything bigger than a 3-legged rat in hand to hand is just suicidal, thus I figured that magic is...

Really enjoyed Oblivio. Haven't played it recently, but I must get some more time on it before Skyrim comes out in November. Funnily enough, I've clocked up a lot of hours on Oblivion, but haven't actually been to Kvatch yet - I knew that once you go there, Oblivion gates start popping up everywhwer...

Funny, I just bought a bunch of clip-top containers at the supermarket for lego storage too. Just the thing, secure, durable and stackable... I also lament the fact that the Pharaoh's Quest series are not available in NZ (i bought a small set - the scarab one - off TradeMe, but no shops carry them)....

The blue does look new (it looks to be slightly darker than the blue used in the Rainbow Knights Armour…). Anyway, quibbles over colour coordinating aside, I’m really appreciating the insight to what is coming up soon. None of this (except for the Egyptian themed sets) is on the official Lego site y...

True, I'm all for the power of fudge and will likely house-rules the heck out of it anyway.

The option to shoot at out-of-range targets is a welcome addition, although the law of diminishing returns cuts in pretty fast (unless you start using bigger dice).

Another suggestion might be the use of "finger cones" to determine the area of effect, with a maximum range in inches (the idea was used in the automatic fire thread). Adding a bit of variability could help too (eg, spread = angle between two fingers, range = 1d6 + 1 or something similar) - givesd t...

Forgive me if this has been covered before in some other thread (I haven’t trawled through all of them, and I’ve been away from the forum for a while - hate it when real-life impinges on your hobbies...), but I still feel that that the weapon ranges are way too short (weapon stats don’t seem to have...

Sounds like your ground-pounders need air support (nothing like a bit of old-fashioned carpet bombing to quieten down that pesky artillery) Reminds me of Gears of Way (sorry Gears of War - my crappy typing...) "Will we have air support sir" "Son, you ARE the support" Alternatively, you may want to p...

I recently discovered TradeMe (well, actually I knew about it long before now, but until I rediscovered a passion for all things Lego, there wasn't anything that I wanted to buy there...). It's a lot like e-bay, but New Zealand Only (like a nation-wide yard sale...)/ Have recently purchased a few ni...

I've been using it a bit lately and have found it rather handy for designing vehicles and such (especially when I don't have all the parts to make them in the real world - yet). My real gripe is that it doesn't have some parts. A lot of the parts from recent sets (eg. Space Police) are not present, ...
