Can you use SN dice to add range to melee weapons?

I've always wanted to get one of those huge ISSD sets and have a battle on top of it, or maybe a space battle around it.

Re: Newbish n00b questions, MkII

I think the kind of engine would dictate how big a bang that would make. A gasoline-powered car or a mobile artillery that runs on diesel wouldn't blow up as much as a nuclear submarine or a space ship with an antimatter reactor.

Re: Portal Guns

Also, one can (and should) Fudge that Portal Guns have advanced to the point where we can put a Portal on any flat surface. Agreed. ABS is weird enough that you can build cars out of dirt and chainsaws out of laser, so it doesn't really make sense to limit portal guns to white surfaces only. Also, ...

Re: Portal Guns

Don't limit its range either, since it's possible to put one on the moon. I'd give it the same UR as a gun of the same size though, since putting a portal on the right surface might take a couple tries.

Re: Portal Guns

Seems like overthinking to me. Keep it simple.
Point it at something, pull the trigger. Bloop, orange portal. Point it at something else. Bloop, blue portal.

Re: Portal Guns

I don't think we are. If you want to make a working portal gun in Brikwars, make it work like a portal gun.

Re: Portal Guns

If you've ever played Portal, you'd know that there can indeed be unlinked portals with no destination.

Re: Plastik Armory: Better Guns, Awesome Abilites

My intent was to make it balanced. Not to be realistic. And I'm leaning less towards this being equipment and more towards it being an intrinsic property of a unit. Instead of being made of material A and being covered in material B, units would just be made of material B.

Re: Plastik Armory: Better Guns, Awesome Abilites

The idea I had was to reduce a die of a specific type of damage by one size rather than just removing a die altogether. Perhaps as a trade off, other kinds of damage are increased. So a unit that is protected against fire damage is effectively immune, but takes 1d8 from bullets and 1d12 from explosi...

Re: Fire for Effect

The trick to indirect fire in brikwars is making sure there's always that fig you can look in the eye. That's why I put the Scouts in there. You can't take out an off-map airbase or artillery battery, but you can take out their eyes on the field, and then they start missing their shots so badly tha...
