It's not just Stubby who's able to update the Newsfeed though. We've got bluebright and Zupponn, to name some.

Yeah, but the highlights are more stubby's thing from what I've seen. Other people will add individual threads if they're significant, but the highlights are more like an abridged version of Mike's Pinterest page. I'm pretty sure he's the only one that's ever done the highlights posts, or at least in the last year.

Re: The Newsfeed
believe it or not, for 2 years before joining the forum i thought the newsfeed was the entire website
(granted i was 10 at the time) so yea, if things had been a bit different, the fateful day of my arriving here would of,happened two years earilier (its also kind of good i did't, i still had my childhood innocence then and all i would of,talked about was star wars and the transformers)
Re: The Newsfeed
Part of the reason I started doing the forum highlights was so that people would realize that the newsfeed isn't the entire website. Now I just need to find a way to let people know there's also a rulebook they can look at. But maybe I'll finish it first. Production deadline pinned at October 2008.Brikguy0410 wrote:believe it or not, for 2 years before joining the forum i thought the newsfeed was the entire website(granted i was 10 at the time)
Ah, that would have been so great. How come there aren't more star wars transformers battles? Maybe one of our monthly theme events should be non-construction-brick battles.Brikguy0410 wrote:so yea, if things had been a bit different, the fateful day of my arriving here would of,happened two years earilier (its also kind of good i did't, i still had my childhood innocence then and all i would of,talked about was star wars and the transformers)

Maybe just above the news items you put a picture of the front cover of the rule book, labeled: "Rule Book".

Re: The Newsfeed
Instead of having just generic-looking links to the forum, rulebook, etc., it might be more beneficial to have brik-built images that link to them. Maybe make it something like Bricklink used to use:

Hey Mike, I think you forgot to add a link to the Pinterest board in the recent weekly posts.

Re: The Newsfeed
Can we all agree blebright's posts are annoying 9 times out of 10. Why does he feel the need to advertise for the game on the game's official website? Also I always thought Shy Volet was the best Brite and that Buddy Blue was lame as fuck.

Ugh, what is this, 2008?Zupponn wrote:Instead of having just generic-looking links to the forum, rulebook, etc., it might be more beneficial to have brik-built images that link to them. Maybe make it something like Bricklink used to use:
Actually in 2008 I'm pretty sure we did have brick-built images for every page on the site. It was klunky.
Huh, you're right, I wonder what happened there.Duerer wrote:Hey Mike, I think you forgot to add a link to the Pinterest board in the recent weekly posts.
I wonder if missing the pinterest link makes any difference, or if there's a better way to share that content. I wish I could host the pinterest board on-site somehow, so I didn't have to link away from the site.
Do people really think that? I think they're fine; and I definitely appreciate them breaking up the monotony of week after week of just forum highlights.Insert_blank wrote:Can we all agree blebright's posts are annoying 9 times out of 10. Re: The Newsfeed
I find them quite refreshing.
Speaking of the newsfeed though, can we get April in? It's been a while since the last one.

Yup, that's the problem with the inclusive "we".stubby wrote:Do people really think that?Insert_blank wrote:Can we all agree [...]

I was using the royal we but yeah. If he was advertising for the site on the site then it's useless. If he was advertising himself than it's annoying.
