set the start video button to something never used then press it in the middle of whatever you're recording, press it again when you're done. It either saves the videos wherever fraps is installed or where you tell it to.

Also I think the free version is limited on how much time will be recorded for one shot.

FRAPS sucks balls, aswell as any demo of any screen recorder.
Get one complete version ILLEGALY if you want good videos.
