Starting out Warhammer 40k
Finally, I've found other people with an interest in it. I wanted to go Tau, but the local hobby store doesn't have them so I ended up going with Dark Eldar. Ravenous pirates ftw!

I went for imperial guard cuz they're more like traditional soldiers. Midget snipers ftw!!!

Re: Starting out Warhammer 40k
Congratulations, you now play the one army that nobody has a damn clue of how to fight against. =P Automatic advantage for you once you get past the ridiculous learning curve DE apparently have....Bonn-o-Tron wrote:Finally, I've found other people with an interest in it. Besides, Tau are cheesy as hell. At least, in 4th Edition anyway. Curse you and your insanely long ranged infantry weapons! *Shakes fist*
More good news: Sometime within the next year or so, DE are supposed to be getting new models....
Well what've we got here....

or if your a smart tau player you have most of your squads in Troop Carriers so you can move them while battlesuits fall from the sky and mess up you flimsy hoverbikes with missiles and plasma.

Well, kroot got a lot better in 5th, they have a 2+ save in good cover. and they basically have bolters, so not that bad (unless you flame them)
There are two kinds of tau, static and mech
static is what your talking about, they just have tons of firepower in a line
mech(mechenized(sp?)) is all about mobility and not being in a line
