XCOM:EU Sequel?
So it looks like this website, along with this reddit thread, are pointing to a sequel to XCOM: Enemy Unknown.

Not exactly up to speed, but XCOM without aliens? Is that even a thing, or am I just confused? As I really don't want a re-skinned game, XCOM is a lot of fun, but only meaningful gameplay additions would make me go for a sequel.

What the general consensus on reddit is that after the war, all the alien tech gets declassified. companies like ADVENT use it, but ADVENT is abducting people, causing an underground XCOM to form. Then they fight against ADVENT. Apparently the devs said that , so he/she will probably figure into the equation as well.

I'm personally wondering how far the modding tools go - it notes being able to create your own campaigns, Having a Long War "2" style mod would be cool from what I've seen of Long War so far, and being able to mod EXALT back into the game as a third faction vs Xcom and the Advent would make for an awesome as hell dynamic if Xcom launched a mission only to find an EXALT raid already in progress on the same target, or EXALT interupting halfway through an XCOM raid. In some select cases - it would be awesome to muddy the waters so to speak and not have the two immediately hostile to one another unless their objectives clashed near the end of a mission.
As the game progressed, EXALT and the Aliens could even start to generate "Characters" in their squads much like the players Xcom forces, procedurally generates named foes with their own skills, abilities and weapons.
I'd also love to see a "Cult of Sirius" faction who are militant civilians who are religiously devoted to Advent and the Alien cause, but it would wieght the number of factions to heavily in the Aliens favour.
Anywho - two other things.
/vg/'s Xcom General is stuck between the endless fight of snek tits and not-snek tits.
And beheading those who insult Xcom.

There are still aliens in XCOM2, But they are basically mini bosses now, much more powerful, and using lots of human meat shields for fodder.
I like the idea they're going for, but im not sure how much time I'll have with it, Fallout4 is out around the same time.
