Magic General: Khans of Turn Three

Here we can either start with Doomwake or Eidolon, whichever benefits you more, then go with Courser and then all the lands. You draw 2-3 cards, give all your opponent's creatures -2/-2 or -3/-3, and then gain 3 life and Scry 1.

I'm pretty sure they enter simultaneousely and thus trigger both effects. So you get 3 cards and the -3/-3. There's a deck going around involving see the unwritten and those two constellation creatures that seems pretty interesting for this exact reason, since two doomwakes can get plopped onto the battlefield to grant a total of -4/-4.

I think if Pyxis costed 5 or 6 for the ability I'd be more willing to play it, but as is 7 mana is tough to grab, especially for something that just might whiff.

Sideboard pretty much just includes another dictate, some crackling dooms to nail sagu maulers, and a bunch of stuff to shift it into a more aggressive beat-down deck when needed.

But like wow this thing hits super aggressively super early on, then closes out by either slamming down a dictate and forcing a sacrifice every time one of rabblemaster's tokens dies, or by stealing an opponent's creature to sacrifice to Butcher of the Horde or Tymaret as I swing in for the big finish.

You probably only want 3 Tymarets and more Bloodsoaked Champions and Hordeling Outbursts.

That's what I'm thinking too, and the sideboard is certainly built to accomodate that playstyle, but it's also a cheap way for me to trigger dictate of Erebos. Honestly one of my priorities is just to send him to the graveyard ASAP so that I always have access to the sac outlet.

At this point about the only thing I'm trying to figure out is what 1/1s to fill the sideboard with for when I play against decks where stealing-and-sacing doesn't work as well. Mostly I'm just looking at more outbursts and champions, but I think Frenzied Goblin could find a place in there as well as even Soldier of the Pantheon. My manabase really only splashes white so i'm not 100% sold on the soldiers. Really it's more of a question of either throwing in more goblins to make rabblemaster a bit better (really love the jeering instigator for this reason), or just better cards that don't have goblin written on them.

It would, but I don't think I'd ever build up enough devotion to actually activate athreos. I probably wouldn't need to though lol.

Might be a good sideboard vs. black and white decks though, since I can steal their dude to bring athreos online.

Why only one wingmate roc? I'd prooobably trade out the third reaper for a second roc, but both should at least be in the sideboard.

IZZET CONTROL:

Multiple Keranos, so I already love it. Rabblemaster + stoke the flames is a great combo, and you may even consider hordeling outburst or maybe even goblinslide to support it.

BW MIDRANGE:

Did you know that thoughtsieze combos super hard with seeker of the way? You get to lifelink back the damage you did to yourself and then some. Same sentiment goes towards ajani's pridemate and pharika's cure. Not sure what you'd ditch in favor of them, but my money's on the timely hordemate or perhaps even the extra brimaz and the spear. Of course, tokens + spear is a great way to go too so you'd really have to commit to one or the other.

I ran this list yesterday at a TCGPlayer 5K tournament and Reaper was awesome. Wingmate Roc was disappointing much of the day, but it did win me a game, so I'm a fan of the one-of for now.

I like Goblinslide, but the card really isn't that great. Hordeling Outburst might have a place here, but the Anger of the Gods in the main make me wary of it.

a creature? holy shit, that triggers for each creature, doesn't it.

Don't get me wrong, goblinslide is a terrible godawful card. If there's any deck it'd work in that might be the one, but even then it's probably a shit play.

Although, did you see LSV's triple goblinslide draft deck? turns out that that plus jeskai charm and crippling chill are pretty much unstoppable in limited as long as you have the like... ten other cards to support it.
