I got the mmo Asheron's Call in 1999.
In early 2000 I sold some amoradillo hide armor on ebay.
The hide drop was rare-ish and you needed to craft it, but not everyone could.
I sold 2, and got $20 for each, which paid for the game.
I delivered it to them in game.

Yes thats right 2 people paid $20 for virtual stuff that their characters would soon outgrow.

I think thats the only thing I sold on ebay, ever.

I had to look up that game, Asheron's Call, since I had never heard of it before. It turns out that it's still going strong with the host servers still up and running 15 years after release!

A friend of mine is still active in there.
They were releasing new content every month to keep things fresh, not sure if they still do.
