Do you like FPS games like TF, or UT?
Do you like piloting robots that are upgradable?
Do you like open beta?
Do you like free to play?
Well Hawken is in open beta, you might like it.
Tip: to exit match play click the top right icon and you get an option in the drop down.
If you select that icon at another time, its not there, so its really confusing how to exit from the match, between matches.
I played for an hour, its ok, but I'm not a big fan of FPS face blasting, but you might be.

I finally caved and downloaded it last night. Got my ass handed to me the first few matches, but today I've been averaging 14-18 kills per match. Of course, my death rate is about the same. Its very fun and fast paced, probably going to get some meteor creds so I can get more mechs and gear.

I did it yesterday afternoon.
I played the Missile map, nobody gets to 10 kills usually.
I was happy with my second match I got 5/5, then I was slaughtered in the next match, I lead the most deaths ranking in 3 of 5 matches
But I eventually started getting high ground, hanging back a bit and getting kills on guys who don't see me.
I should probably change mechs to the long range guy.

Yeah, my highest spree was around 3-4 kills. I landed in third place most of the time, but I got lucky once and made second.
And the Sharpshooter mech is a good choice for long range combat, especially on Bazaar and Origin. The only downside is that it doesn't do as much damage as I would really like, even with its temporary damage boost. I found that its better for long range suppression and forcing your enemies into a corner while your team finishes them off.

In case anyone's interested, a new update for the game is coming today that inludes yet another new mech, some game tweaks, and a brand new map (finally).
