So why are you not playing Gone Home? It's on Steam. A no bullshit story game. It might be difficult if you are too young to remember cassette tapes. If you are the kind of person who knows what "gothic" means then I would call it gothic, otherwise I won't because that would give you the wrong impression. Anyway go buy it.

I like to play video GAMES, not video stories.

Yeah but do you go to the movies? I agree that most "story video games" are pretty meh, but this one is different, like I said: a no bullshit story game. It is interactive fiction done right.

Now, I'm not saying that it's good or bad, I'm just saying that it's not what I want to spend my money on. I'd rather spend $5-15 on a game that I'm going to play multiple times because it's fun and challenging than on a "game" that I'm going to "play" once for about an hour and a half.

The difference between something like this and a movie is that with a movie I can make popcorn and sit and eat that popcorn while enjoying the movie. I don't have to do anything extra to move the story along or anything.

you've never eaten while playing a game?

You like skill-based games, you like movies. You don't like the in-between? That's what I felt like all the Uncharted games were and I loved them.

Well, yeah, but here's the difference:
Game: Eat Eat Eat Game Game Game Cutscene Eat Game Game Pause Eat Eat Game
Movie: BOTH WATCH AND EAT AT THE SAME TIME

Why doesn't anyone go with the whole "try before you buy" piracy method? It works really well with these "interactive story" games because it won't be a waste of money if you didn't enjoy it.

because why would you buy if you already have it? And don't give me any of that "hurr i want to support the developers" crap because that only happens with the REALLY good games and even then most of us are too lazy to stop playing the game for even a moment to do so.
