I've never played Alpha Centauri, but have heard a lot about, but Civ I have played quite bit of, so this makes me pretty excited.

It was one of, if not the best civ style 4x game ever made. Years before its time.
It has been a bane in my life since it was released.

"Too bad for you, miserable Japanese game companies. You led the charge in pervy RPGs and crappy MMOs, even producing a gem or two every once in a while. In your country were set some of the greatest animes and games ever (very few games though, like Shogun 2). Can you rebuild your respect among other nation's game industries? Can you build a company that will last for 30 more years?"

Juicy details.
What I'm seeing, I'm liking. I haven't played as much Civ as many of you here, but hot damn, these changes look good.
