Apparently someone manged to get a free copy of Fallout 4/5 by sending Bethendo a massive box of bottlecaps.

They didn't want to utterly depress the shit out of their player base.
Because no one wants to play fallout in a parking lot.

Wasn't The Institute from those not-bladerunner quests in 3 based in the NE area? Wonder if they'll make an appearance here.
Also, it's nice to see they might be continuing NV's post'-post apocalypse setting.

The institute was a group of scientists who worked with Androids.

This is cool, but I noticed two things I wasn't really cool with:
Destructable enviroment. I saw the player put a healthy dose of rounds into that wood pillar when he was fighting Raiders in the street. It stayed intact. It should have been sawed in half.
When the player character grabs the minigun after acquiring the power armor, there was no animation (like in Halo, poke poke) for taking it off the mount it was sitting on. You just use your mind powers to grab and place it in your steel plated hands.

And you know that this isn't a smaller action game like Battlefield, but a massive RPG, right?Vami IV wrote:You Battlefield did shit like this right?Zupponn wrote:You know that this is a video game right?Vami IV wrote:Tzan wrote:New game play trailer:

You know modders added destructibility to Fallout: New Vegas, right?
http://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/57512/?
It's abandoned now but when I googled looking for it I saw more mods like it.

This is normal sort of thing for videogame fans to desire. Of course they desire it! It is great.
But videogame fans do not understand how complex and expensive AAA titles are, and the many challenges in production. This is OK. They will still buy and play the games, because even though they will never be the ideal game in the persons imagination, their real lives are so much worse than a decent game that they will still play.

Re: FALLOUT 4 CONFIRMED!
I've been in the habit of not reading system reqs for years, because my system has been great.
Now six years later, a challenger appears.
Fallout 4 needs 8gig and I only have 6. It also "requires" a current video card I don't have.
But I bought it yesterday without checking, oops.
So I figured it installed ok so I might as well try it, whats the worst that could happen? RIGHT?
It ran fine.
FPS is good at low settings, in a windowed mode. It wont let me run fullscreen.
I do expect at some point it will crash, but after 3 hours it hasnt.
One of those sessions was 2 hours.
We'll see what happens when there is a ton of stuff on screen.

A while ago, I managed to run a 2-year old game on my 11-year old PC (never upgraded in any way)... How it worked is beyond my imagination.Tzan wrote:I've been in the habit of not reading system reqs for years, because my system has been great.

Re: FALLOUT 4 CONFIRMED!
I'm now at 28 hours.
Ran into some big towns.
I got some terrible loading problems that dropped the framerate below 1.
So I was thinking this is because of my 6 gig memory problem.
After a while I turned it off, I noticed that I had Autocad still running, hmm.
Turned off Autocad, later on I turned the game back on, it ran fine.
So it turns out I didnt have a memory problem, I just had a memory problem.

The forum-goers move up. Tzan walks in a random direction, Warhead gets his movement halved because of his distraction by the Maniac Beer, and IVHorseman gets extra movement due to his wheelchair.

Tzan: “Modulo is awesome, its like math majic, except spelled correctly like dictionary magic.”
Zahru: “Yes Tzan, these guys are tougher than they look.”
Tzan: “I don't think cricket is in the Olympics.”
Killer Karetsu: “Tzan is right! We shall fight for Roc so that his death will not be in vain!”
Tzan: “I killed me some Diablo. I did die once but it was totally lame. I had just a little health missing. Then got caught in one of those boner cages, so after he tosses me to the ground I have maybe 30% health. No big deal just get some distance. But before I could take one step he used that blue lazer dealie so I got totally killed.”
IVhorseman: “Why thanks, Tzan. I also believe that my wheelchair is the current MVP of this battle.”
Tzan: “I think I have some low level dyslexia because I read slowly. If a book is easy reading I'm at 20 pages per hour at best. Its just a chore.”
BFenix: “I didn’t think that was physically possible either.”
Tzan: “Send them a sternly worded email about how their cached page loads too quickly. Suppose you could clear that. My cache is using 788 meg. firefox>tools>options>advanced>network>clearnow button. In case you were wondering.”
Zupponn: “You heard Tzan! Victory is near! For the forum!”
Tzan: “I had a big phone interview last week. But the guy never called. He wants to hire a Unity dev for some coding work but can't even…”
Tzan wanders into the flames and burns to death.
