So yeah, back when I was on the fence about buying Minecraft, I searched around for any Voxel-based games that were free-to-play...
There weren't any at the time, but was often getting E-mails from Trion Worlds about their upcoming F2P Voxel MMO Alpha, Trove.

I eventually got into the Beta, and it just launched recently.

It's pretty alright, if a bit Grindy since you have to find "Recipes" for almost all decorative Objects and shades of Block other than Primal, but it does do the whole "Adventure Platformer with Voxels" thing pretty well.
