and it will keep going up every year, because despite valve saying they would ax greenlight forever ago, all these shitty games are just part of their money making monopoly. after a youtuber plays a flavor of the week "lol so random" game the sales go up, combined with the fee spent to put the game on the store in the first place, added by the number of crates/weapon skins/hand skins/***PAID*** multiplayer sprays/etc etc etc FUCK VALVE AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
Re: 38% of all Steam games were released in 2016
Is this something people actually care about? Seems to me they can have as many shitty games and DLC as they want, as long as it doesn't get in the way of the games I'm actually looking for. Who cares?Overwatch_Elite wrote:and it will keep going up every year, because despite valve saying they would ax greenlight forever ago, all these shitty games are just part of their money making monopoly.

I thought it was an interesting stat, it doesn't bother me.
I'm not interested in Flappy Abrams Tank anyway.

it's not a problem if all you want to do is play games and don't care about where the money goes but when you combine it with all the other scummy things valve does it's just another shitty thing they get away with. its no fun watching something you've been a part of for 10 years go down the drain.

Plus this means you can buy your friends Shower with your Dad simulator to embarrass them. More options is never a bad thing either.stubby wrote: Is this something people actually care about? Also how is steam going down the drain if it's earning more and more money?

Steam doesn't even go down drains. Steam goes up, water goes down. It's basic physics

Huh, it turns out that 38% is the lowest percentage for a year. At the end of 2015, over 40% of Steam's library was released in 2015. 2014 had an even higher percentage, and so on back to the beginning.

Yeah I think I read that in the comments.
So its flattening out and the percentage will drop each year even with the Steam valve access door wide open.
All the devs will need to all go the route of reskinning tutorials 1 per month to keep the percentage up.
