I noted that this board noted a Pokemon thread.
I have been a Pokemon fan ever since the glory days of GSC, and own most of the games. I currently spend most of my time playing Pokemon Pearl, but I also play the Mystery Dungeon games and Emerald from time to time.
If you happen to like Pokemon, or used to like Pokemon, feel free to share your stories here!

I've been playing since Red, son. THOSE are the glory days.
Also I kick around a Pearl version. I never touched emerald or anything from that generation of pokemon, But I'm liking it again in Generation IV.
Still waiting for Platinum though.

Strictly a RBY and GSC guy myself. I do LOVE Pokemon Snap and Pokemon Stadium though. Pokemon Snap was amazing.

The third generation was the worst. You'd be best to continue avoiding it.

Glad to see so many Pokemon fans!

Agreed, the 25867 water Pokemon, regi trio, lack of day/night, and lame villains made that generation a total bust.
However, Emerald
did make up for it with the Battle Frontier.

While RBY were great games, GSC were the height of the Pokemon franchise, back when
everyone watched the anime, collected the cards, and duked it out with their friends to be the very best.

I'm glad you agree, and I never actually played Emerald. The problem that I had was that pretty much all the level 30+ pokemon were water types, and it was a bitch to train certain types which are susceptible to water.

But fire type was the coolest!

Exactly! Don't get me started on Diamond/Pearl, where the only pokemon available before the National Pokedex was Ponyta, and the only new fire pokemon were the starter, Heatran and Magmortar.

Darn, that sounds like crap.
Don't get me started on rescue team.
Apparently a pair of level ~15, a cyindaquil and a mudkip, can take out arcticuno.

A guy posted a link to this on the Java dev site I hang at. This is done using the same Java library I use.
Its still early dev time for them so don't expect much.

I actually like normal quite a lot. Snorlax is my favorite. I have one, he sleeps in my room.
