Lego Carnage - A Quake Arena Mod

Allright, I've disappeared again. As many of you from Frappr know, I tend to pop in and out with no real stability. Well, here's my newest excuse: Quake 3 Arena Mods. Like this one, for example:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WWiWrZGIFNQ
Anyway, it's pretty fun. Warning, though: The bots are freakin boneriffic. That guys damn right you need to to install Brainworks.
Other fun mods:
Presidential Arena: Ursper - Note: again, bots are dumber than the short end of a stick. Still, a chance to blow up Bush or Clinton would make anyone happy. And there not the only ones.
Runes: This is really fun. You get an extra slot for a new kind of powerup, a 'rune'. It gives you a special power, like invulberability to lava and acid, or ice traps, or teleportation. There's a total of 40 or so powers. Makes for crazy fun...
Super Hero Arena: You chose from a list of powers your primary, passive, and then a special weapon. Pretty fun. The model pack is better, though. All the super skins you could ever want....
A lot of the mods I try don't seem to want to run on a Mac or Open Arena (since I'm to cheap to but Quake 3 and Quake Arena).
Word to the noobs: Lego Carnage is not a standalone game. I can show you how to download and install it and Open Arena and Brainworks, but that won't be happening today. If you're intrested, I will try to help you out...

I'm going to say what Piltogg said, but in a more intelligible format.
What exactly is Quake 3? Is it something you buy, or is it a download-able thing? Approximately how much disk space does it take up?
And why can't Piltogg use grammar?

Since some of you seem to be too lazy to perhaps click on the link and to a minimum amount of looking, click the (more) tab and it should have all the info you're looking for.

Oh god, I really need to learn how to mod. I'm still kicking around an idea for a Battlefield 2142 mod of Brikwars.

Awesome, truly awesome mod.
Incorporate building into it and you truly have brikwars.

For that, you could mod Sauerbraten with the same skin. There's a multiplayer editting mode, where you can build the world up from a flat plain (or existing map), and fight each other. (For the curious, not at the same time: there are two modes, one for editing, one where you're a regular player).

Nah. Needs to have building both before hand and during, and it needs everything built to be destructible. That would be awesome.

Great, what I was afraid of. A noob flood. Honestly, don't some of you know how to use wikipedia, or a search engine?
Alright, I'm going to give a full explanation the way I should have to start with:
- This is a mod, not a standalone game.
- This mod was made for Quake 3 Arena, however, there is an open-source, free clone program called OpenArena on which this mod will run with only minor problems. Mainly, bots don't know how to grab weapons.
- The maps and mod are both on separate sites and by separate people.
- There is another mod which could be used to incorperate level editing (building?), and the two mods could be merged into one folder.
In order to play this mod, you need to do the following things:
1. download whichever version of Open Arena applies to you.
http://www.moddb.com/games/5727/openarena/downloads
2. Download Lego Carnage Pro:
http://legoc.planetquake.gamespy.com/
Note: You will probably be told you don't have an account with FilePlanet. Just make one and log in. If you ever play other mods for OpenArena or download a map or anything, you'll need it, since it's a favorite hosting spot.
3. Download the LetGo map pack:
http://berneyboy.planetquake.gamespy.com/maps.htm
4. Take the folder named LCpro_FullMOD, and open it. Inside there's a folder called Lego_C. Open the other folder letgo_q3a. Drag the file named LetGo_q3a.pk3 into the Lego_C folder.
5. Now rightclick on the OpenArena Icon. Chose Show package contents. Inside, there are several file/folders: Info.plist, MacOS (yours will probably be named something else), PkgInfo, and Resources. Drag or copy the lego_C folder into whatever folder has taken the place of MacOS.
6. Launch OpenArena. A list of options will appear. Chose Mods. Click on Lego_C.
7. Have fun playing the game. Note: OpenArena on its own is lots of fun too. definitely worth playing.
Whew. That was fun....

Still, seeing things bust into briks, like in Mercernaries, tons of fun.

That is awesome. I've played Quake 3 Arena much a long time ago, and that captures the spirit of both Quake 3 and BrikWars nicely. Maybe I should download that someday. When I have time. Which I don't usually have.
