the only reason I am asking this is I have no legos. Can brik wars be played on paper?
(I can see a lot of ways this can be useful players are not limited to what they own) Anyway can it be done ??????

Years ago in a town far far away I ran a Cthulhu adventure on Manly Santa Day day. But I needed some specific characters like Santa etc..
So I made them out of paper.
You may have seen people selling images of a character on a rectangle of paper that sits in a plastic holder to make it stand up.
So you could photoshop a character on your computer, print it, cut it out with some extra tab material at the bottom.
Then tape the tab onto something, a square of cardboard, a quarter, whatever.
I had cut up masonite squares and taped them to that.
I drew them by hand using a Pilot pen and colored them in with colored pencils.

Tzan's idea sounds reasonable. Alternatively, Pocket Dungeon could easily be adapted to Brikwars style play; have a sheet of graph paper, and assign each box a unit of measurement(studs, inches, your choice). Represent units through different glass pips, or simply penciled-in symbols. The rules would remain just about the same, and you could even string together multiple sheets of graph paper to achieve larger battlefields.
@Tzan: Mom's running Kingmaker for Dad, a few family friends, and I. She'd get a kick out of those paper minis (despite the fact that she bought and painted most of the main baddies, I believe).

But with simplified, Brikwarsy rules, and more mass combat rather than individual characters. Also no rolepalying. So, no, not at all like D&D.
BZZZT WRONG ANSWER.

and isn't most of the point of Dnd to fight awesome battles? I play, and, while I enjoy the roleplay, necessitate at least one battle per session

Eeeeh, I can get awesome battles from Brikwars, Pocket Dungeon, Warhammer, yadda yadda yadda... no, I play D&D for the roleplay and the story.
But that, my friend, is more personal preference.
It also has nothing to do with lordracnar's question, so let's leave that where it is.

I wouldnt say that was

, like Oloth said, D&D, being as versatile as it is, focuses on RPG aspects, rather then
just combat. Of course the combat element takes a big slice of the cake, but if the other stuff didnt exist, it would just be like Pocket Dungeon
Back to the topic here, I also found a few sites around the web that have this paper minis. Ill try to mount a few up. Im interested in this because Im making like a Warhammer wargame but in much larger scale and yet more simple, and no, not like Warmaster
