Between Drinks
How do you guys deal with the pounding headaches between the 24hours you're not supposed to be drinking? By 5pm the next day my head starts really killing me and my face gets flushed. I usually drink a liter of coffee in the morning and water during the day but maybe I should up to an afternoon liter of coffee?

Re: Between Drinks
The only real solution is to drink less the night before...
Drinking lots of water and having a nice long walk in fresh air is what i tend to do.

Re: Between Drinks
Not knowing your drinking schedule, I can hazard a guess that your afternoon hangover is caused by a couple things.
One reason your hangover progresses could be because you're not entirely sober by the time you wake up. This means you are in for the full brunt of your hangover as the day progresses. If that's the case, then that life giving morning coffee could only be making things worse by the afternoon. The symptoms of a hangover arise because your body is busy detoxing and converting alcohol into sugars. This takes water, and the common ordeal of a hangover is caused by dehydration, among other things. Caffeine also causes dehydration, so by chugging that morning coffee for a quick lift, you may be creating more problems down the road.
The best cure for a hangover I always found to be pre-hangover maintenance. One protip is to sober up before you go to sleep. This will help blunt the hangover when you wake up because it means the body is already detoxing. Another helpful thing is to chug a lot of water before you go to sleep. Probably at least a liter or so.
There is also something to be said for the Drunkard's Breakfast (if you can hold it down). Something about that grease balms the stomach, and eases the queasies. Back in the day, my go-to hangover cure was a couple bottles of gatorade and a mammoth rice crispy bar chasing a pair of Advil. Your results may vary. Good luck!

Personally, I've found a nice hot and spicy bowl of pho to be a great help in fighting hangovers. The hot broth and chilies seem to help with the detox process. Taking a walk outside or going for a jog also seems to help.

Alex isn't the only one to swear by a morning-after bowl of spicy soup. Menudo has been hyped as a hangover cure by generations.
It should be pretty easy to find pho chay, that is vegetarian pho, recipes and likely ingredients where you live. Like a lot of soups, it stores well in the fridge and tastes even better the next day. The downside is, this takes some prep the night before a bender, as you likely won't feel like cooking soup the next morning.
Quick and dirty vegetarian breakfast the next morning could be as simple as hashbrowns and eggs, with a little salsa to get those hot peppers in there.

We don't eat pho cause it's a shitty la mian rip off and la mian is only made with cow bone where I live.

I do agree about pho for the most part. Ramen is usually better tasting (although it's easier to make bad ramen then it is to make bad pho). Lemon grass chicken is usually the best thing about Vietnamese places.Insert_blank wrote:We don't eat pho cause it's a shitty la mian rip off and la mian is only made with cow bone where I live.

Here in Wisconsin, we intake large quantities of cheese, bratwurst, and beer to reduce hangovers.
